Cult of the Texas Jack; why should the peaNUTS get all the glory

5 tea bags and 6 hours later mine looks almost exactly like yours so I'm real happy. Only difference is, so far I've kept my blades patinaless. Wish I could oblige you with pics but haven't accomplished posting those yet. :o The Texas Jack is such a beautifully sleek, capable cutter Case should get an award for producing it and no self respecting knifester should be without one. Glad you're enjoying yours, long live the Cult of the Texas Jack!!!

No introduction needed.

onejim, that is one sweet pocket pal, the patina is looking great.

I saw that it got posted (accidentally;)) in the wrong cult's thread.:thumbup: Maybe that will help the other cult's members to see the light, convert from the dark side and join the CULT OF THE TEXAS JACK. :D

Here is a pair of jacks. Case and A GEC 66 arrived today. they have the same feel in the hand and in the pocket. The Case might be just slightly slimmer.

The scales are amazing on this!! Are they brown from everyday use or did you stain them?

LaughingBone

Thanks. I gave it the ole tea n' coffee spa treatment. Case's amber bone is just too bright orange and white for my liking....but that's easily remedied.

Came out nice.

I have no idea what your talking about. And under the oath of the TJ....I cant discuss, confirm, or deny any activities related to our society.

You never know when someone with a girlishly small knife is watching. No offense to any of the female TJ members.

The Texas Jack is one of my all time favorite patterns. This is the one that started it all - bought this one the year I graduated from college. It was a long time ago and to give a hint, it has 4 dots. I carried this every day for a bunch of years.

Here's a family photo. The last one is most recent acquisition via a trade here on BF (thanks Lance).

Just saw some movement on the enemy lines.

Bumping threat in hopes of gaining more recruits.

I'm a double agent in both camps, but secretly a spy for the Swiss Army - shhh, don't tell anyone.

Apologies for the lack of a photo, but picture a case texas jack in black delrin, 3 1/8 inches long. stamped 6244 on the back of the main blade. Is this not a normal number and size for this Texas jack? It is configured as a texas jack, just shorter. I believe it has cv blades but I am not positive. Any help is appreciated....Herb

The case '44 pattern is a serpentine square-bolster pattern at 3 1/4" closed. Essentially a smaller version of their '032 pattern. The 6244 would be a 2-blade jack. The pattern currently survives as the smallest of their "Medium Stockman" patterns, the 6344, of which I own two and frequently carry because it is a great smallish stockman.

Here's a lousy pic of one of them. It may look swell-center but I assure you it is serpentine, like the larger Texas Jacks. If it came in a 2-blade jack pattern it would probably be one of my most frequently carried knives. The 3-blade stockman is among my favorites in my carry rotation (not that one, the blue jigged version in SS).

I like the clip on the GEC and the pen on the Case. I also like the square bolsters on the Case.
I've never tried the GEC 66 - I don't suppose I will unless I lose my Case.

Here's my jack - fit and finish on this guy is very nice. I picked this up at a retail store last fall.

Been wanting to post to this thread, some recent additions inspired me today.

Two blades, one clip one pen, same end - check. Square bolsters - check. Serpentine frame - check. Ok, I think we can consider the 76 Outlaw Jack to be a Texas Jack!
