Custom Low Rider pocket clips

Hey I just saw the Endura you did. You wouldn't happen to have one of those on hand would ya? They're the same pattern I believe.

Believe me I thought about that. If I had known while I had it maybe but I suspect that although the clip may be the same the height from the top of the Endura to the clip is different than it is on your knife so even if I did have it the E4 doesn't really show me what I would need to know to make the fold over in the right spot for a clip on the D4.

All are the same price if I can do one. $30 plus shipping.

I need to know the specifics of the knife or see pics though to know if I can do it or not.

Any chance you can make one dark in color?

I can mount a low rider in that same spot of the clip on it now using two of the three existing holes.

Dark colors? I cannot get black colors if that is what you mean. I think thats why blue is the most popular color request. Personally the blue matches to jeans well but the purpleish color is actually darker. I can get a dark bronze too but thats it really in the way of dark.

Dark bronze, please.
One more question... can you embed a 1.5x5mm h3 vial in it if i supply you with one?

edit: in the clip, that is... I just want the vial to be visible from above somehow

I don't know about that. I can only see what you are talking about and go from there. At .040 thickness there isn't much room for inlays of anything much thicker than a piece of paper.

you're probably right. it would be best not to compromise the bend.

I receive it on thursday. If it's a keeper I'll be in touch. I'm basically looking for a replica of the stock clip in terms of style, but for low carry.

Thanks!

Well, I have a new record for the most attempts made to come up with a clip to work to my satisfaction. I got this Protech Integrity knife from a repeat customer for a low rider in blue jean blue that buried the knife better in the pocket. The factory mounting of the clip and the relationship to the lanyard and tightness of the space fro the mounting, in conjunction with the sharpness of the angle of the handle (did you get all that? I know its a mouthful) made for a difficult set up to accomadate the knife. Apparently even the factory had trouble getting a clip to look right on this knife because it was not quite up with the level of the rest of the quality of the knife itself either.

In the end all conventional look and wisdom had to be thrown out the window to come up with a clip that didn't overhang the body (unlike the factory clip that did ), didn't block the lanyard hole (unlike the factory clip that did partially) and also had suffcient tension to act as a lock stabalizer as the factory clip did. Once I just let the folder decide how the clip had to look to function this is what I came up with. The clip looks pretty 'off' in the hand away from the knife but once on the folder you can see it was designed to fit to the body of this knife.

I almost refunded the money on this one after the third attempt. But being the old stubborn a$$ that I am I persisted. In the end this Protech Integrity folder went home sporting a new low riding blue jean blue clip with no mods to the body of the folder so it can always be taken back to the factory look and specs which is the preferred way to do these. Its always nice when you can modify a valuable collector piece and not actually change it permanently.

One more low rider. This one for a low rider from the factory that the clip didn't suffice on. First one of these I've had for this job.

I call this one "stubby". A fat clip for a fat knife. I think they go well together. :D

Hey Steve,

Could you do a similar one for a Native II? Rainbow anodised? Without having the knife?

I also read that you made up a replaceable SS pivot for a Native - is this possible?

Thanks

JB

Hi Jaybee. I'll have trouble knowing where to fold it over without the knife in hand. I usually get stuff mailed out completed pretty fast for folks with these smaller jobs. Its only the big ones that take me a few like the total rebuilds that require steps, and patience. Most pocket clip jobs go back out completed the same day I get the knives unless I just get swamped with a bunch of deliveries all at once.

I can probably do a rainbow type anodize for it no problem. The pivot pin replacement with a stainless barrel and pins takes a few but I do them for folks all the time. Mostly because they got carried away with a ball peen hammer and screwed up their blade action. But I can sure replace a good one just as easy if that is what the owner wants done. For this I'll for sure need the knife. I am also not sure of the type of clip on that Native you mention. If its one of those using the barrel clips well, I'm afraid to make another low rider for one of those. I did just one. Its posted somewhere on these forums but I'll have to find it if I can. My main computer is crashed and in for repairs so this lap top I've been using is my back up and does not have any pics on it. I've been doing work and not even been able to document it for the guys I did it for for the last few days since my computer has been down.

Show me pics or a link to a knife just like yours and get in touch with me privately and we'll go from there. I'm easy to reach. Lgtfutatcableone.net

fedaykincmndr, I sent an email to you through the BF format so let me know when you get it and if your inbox is like others I've mailed to you may need to check your spam box.

Thanks

These Cuda Maxx knives by Camillus are so big! I have to set them angled just to scan these.

This work order was for a clip flip of the factory clip, bead blasting both scales the clip, and the blade and resharpening. The blade was sharpened with a 15 degree bevel per side followed by a 20 degree secondary bevel.

It Waves pretty good now.

STR,

Have you done one for the Victorinox Trekker/Bundeswehr yet? I find that I am carrying one of those pretty much all the time on the weekends to work in the yard and would like kind of a long clip on it.

Thanks,
Danny

Dan, I have not even seen that knife. Show me a link or a pic of yours if you get a chance and we'll go from there my friend.

STR

STR,

It is the green one at the bottom of the picture. Typical Victorinox construction.

Since this is a work knife for the yard, I would want it to stick up some out of the top of my pocket so that I could grab it easily.

Thanks,
Danny

All I can do is look at it. Is the liner stainless? If so I may not be able to help you. If the black scale is FRN there is a good chance I can thread that for you. I've had good success threading FRN. Better luck with it than either G10 or Micarta actually so I know that will work providing you don't over tighten the screws ever.
