custom shop has magnacut for 110, 112, 113, 119, 501 and 722

The mailman delivered my new best friend this afternoon. It's perfect as far as I can tell. Pictures don't do it justice.
Blade centered. Opens like it's got ball bearings. Beautiful color and grain on the walnut scales.
Oh yes, and MagnaCut. Well done Buck. This is my first CKS order, but it won't be my last.

I'm not sure who this is, but if anyone knows, tell them thank you! It couldn't be any better in my eyes. True craftsmanship.

I think walnut will be my next cover material. Nice pics and nice Buck!

Nice one! Like you, I checked mine over good, since it was my first custom; and I couldn't find a thing wrong with it. I can't wait for the 112 Magnacut to come out.

I've been carrying it for a couple days, but it hasn't seen any hard use yet. I'm anxious to see how the Magnacut holds up, and how hard it is to sharpen.

Yes, once Buck offers the 112 in MagnaCut, I will place an order. As for sharpening, I’m up for the challenge 😊

I have "a few" other super steels, and I don't see the Magnacut as being much of a problem, but we'll see. Normally, when I get a new knife, the edge never seems to suit me, and I need to clean it up on the Sharpmaker. That wasn't the case with this one, so we'll have to wait until the first sharpening.

Same here. All I did with this one was give it a good strop and put it in my pocket.

That looks great. Walnut is so classy.

I am patiently waiting for the 110 magnacut in elk and brass (no rivets) I ordered last week. It seems like the turnaround for custom knives is always quicker then the estimated 6 weeks unless it's Christmas time. Hopefully I'll have it in hand for dove opener/fall surf fishing. It remains to be seen if it'll replace my S30V Ram 110 in the fishing bag.

Mine was 18 days from order to mailbox.

I've been playing with magnacut in bunch of brands including Buck for awhile. touching up edges is easy and no effort. I haven't worn one down to dull yet to resharpen, so can't moment on that. based on touch ups I can't see it being all that hard or time consuming with the right stones.

That would coincide with most everything I have been reading so far. I assume it’s going to be a while before I get this 110 dull enough to warrant time on the sharpener. But I haven’t read anything that has me concerned either.

What do you consider the right stones?

My favorite knife steel has been S35VN for about 8 or 10 years now, because it seemed to have the right balance of edge holding & toughness, for my type of use, anyway. And it was always easy to keep sharp with just a few minutes on the sharp maker. From what I've been hearing about Magnacut, it takes that combo to a new level. Mine's has been getting used every day, but nothing to really test it yet.
