The stag is what drew me to the knife, really unique.

Thanks for starting this thread ISKski. I have been wanting to get a handmade traditional but did not know very much about makers and there work. This thread has certainly enlightened me. Some absolutely beautiful knives here.

You're welcome.. I wanted to make one a long time ago. (great posts everyone, lets add more)

I bet this thread could get dozens of pages if it would stick around the front page for awhile ..

Seems to me like custom pocket knives are gaining a little traction.

First custom I ever ordered.. RL Smith barlow 3 1/4'' closed - stainless steel blade and furniture - coined edges - Spalted maple burl covers

She now resides with another forum member across the Atlantic... I hope he uses it

This thread needs a good bump. There's a lot of customs owned by members and the other threads are getting completely dominated by GEC chatter....

One of my favorites lately has been this 3-5/8", G10 trapper with CPM154 steel by Bret. I have a few of Bret's knives, folders and fixed blades, and all are top notch.

Great looking piece Jake, glad I pushed you to get that one. I agree on all the threads being dominated by GEC, nice to see a change once in a while.

Here's an Erickson I got from you, one of my favourites, perfect size.

This was my first Traditonal custom. ATS-34 and dyed box elder burl. It also started my love for knives from Todd.

Nice Jake. You have a stellar collection going there.

Thank you. I have a little bit of everything it looks like but there's one thing missing...an end cap! Well that one is in the works right now with Todd. Gonna be in jigged bone again like the little pen knife. No more hints until the knife is in hand though!

Very nice knives!! I look forward to being able to add to this thread. I have an LC coming from Cramer and a Vidar from DrT! Come on March!

I am on the lookout for a custom that speaks to me with jigged bone or really well figured wood and a long pull. It would be my first!

Any maker that you're on the specific lookout for?? Might be easier to figure out who you want to go with and contact them. That way you can get them to hopefully make a knife exactly to your specifications.

Gene Wiseman Front Pocket, 3 1/2" closed, G-10, D-2.....

Erickson EDC, ebony covers, coined liners, and inside worked backspring...

Really great Wiseman and Erickson Jerry
My Wiseman has moved on towards greener pastures but here's a photo of a Wiseman Bowie Clip Frontpocket in authentic Antique Westinghouse Micarta.
Many people seem to mis interpret antique ivory micarta as Westinghouse made or use them interchangeably now.

^^ I would prefer to stay away from fixed blades because its hard to define a "traditional" fixed blade and most often people post fixed blades I would consider more modern in style. (I am guilty of this too)

I think this will fit in just fine here...Loveless DPH made by Bob Dozier himself. 154CM, Desert Ironwood with thin red liners just as the man himself designed it to be.

Here's another Dowell of mine. 4" Trapper, acid etched A2 blade and spring, stainless liners.
