Cut with your knife?

i use my knives. if they are just fondled by my its because i probably traded it with intentions of trading again for something different.

I eat with my Knockout and cut with my 302 or 561 at home. Most of my collection has blades that are longer than the local limit, so they are still nib. My edc is from that guy who seems to like to yell at people.

"Not at all. What would be the point? You sell people things they need, you're out of business until they need a new one. But you sell 'em something they don't need, right away they don't need another one. I use my 0560 as much as I can. This was less than a week after getting it.

Really? If you have to qualify the post with "Try not to read into this"...then you should probably re-write the post.
Oh it's just that it doesn't take much with the delicate feelers with some here on the forums. There doesn't seem like there are the right words.
I don't think you're a bad guy; I've been pleased with your service and all of my Kershaw knives in the past
Let's see, we have a CSR, designer, and executive monitoring BF's and the minority of our base. I'd say that's much more than any other manufacturer. The giveaways I would guess total more than all other manufacturers combined. The insight to our business more than any other brand I'm aware of.

I'm happy your pleased. Unfortunately that has not been the case with, albeit the minority of the minority, but it can wear on you, on us. I understand why there are manufacturers that don't participate in these public forums. But again...I'm happy your pleased

BUT, you definitely seem to wear your emotions on your sleeve with regard to the forum. How many times have we seen posts like this or the "I'm leaving the forum", "no more deadline quotes", etc. rants?
Sorry I'm not the perfect representative that you and others are requiring. It's posts and feelings like these that do make me feel I'm wasting time.

You have a lot of GREAT customers, don't let the 5% or whatever the % is make you come off as a cynic and turn your good customers away from the brand.
Sure thing.

Now that I've been analyzed and brow beat, can we get back on topic?

I do post on this forum if I have what I think is a major problem--I had a Skyline that wouldn't lock up, so a gentle push to the spine would cause the lock to disengage; I just had a Chill that developed so much friction it wouldn't flip open--but only because those problems interfere with my ability to use the knife. I use my Skyline and Chill (now just the Chill, since I lost the Skyline--got to get another couple of those!) for everyday tasks like opening letters, packaging, and on-the-go MacGyver jobs. I'd use them more heavily, but I'm not very good at sharpening yet and I'd hate to lose the edge on my blades...

Thanks for all your hard work, Thomas! :) We appreciate it!

One day I needed to make a 4 cylinder out of a V8 so I went to my locker, which is "chilled to extreme coldness", and took out a very large, unbelievably sharp, knife.
Then I wrapped a piece of black banding around my waist, got a really, really mean look on my face, and chopped it in half while it was hanging from a rope. Two TWO four cylinders from one !
When I woke up I pulled out my Buck Alpha, opened a package of bacon and made a bloody Mary..

I use my 0560 just about everyday on the job and off. Using the black sharpmaker rods I managed to get a toothy, yet shaving sharp edge that glides through most materials like a laser. The knife is dirty, scuffed, and scratched. I do not abuse it, but I definitely do use it!!

My 0200 is an EDC. She sees a lot of fairly easy:rolleyes: use.

I use her to shave my legs. To ward off rabid, horned lizards with laser beam eyes. Everyday stuff like that.

I haven't thrown it at anything. Yet.

As much as I love these knives, they WILL NOT withstand the pressures of being thrown too many times. Especially the bearing pivot knives. I learned the hard way about throwing folders.

I've cut just about everything (within its capabilities) with my s60v Blur; wood, thick cable ties, cat5,6, telephone cable, all manner of food items, packaging, carpeting, I'm sure i'm missing some things in there. I have other awesome Kershaws but this one sees the most carry and gets the most use by far. Did I mention I paid $30 for it in almost-new condition? hehe!

My 0200 has failed to cut one time.
We were taking a hose real off of a five ton and the hose swivel connections were not swiveling.
Chief says "Cut it!"
Out comes the blade, slice it goes into the rubber hose, then it grinds to a sickening halt on the double braided stainless steel inner sheath.
A few things were addressed:mad:

Five minutes sharpening and all was well again.

Never again my precious....

We are supposed to use them to cut things? I thought they were all show pieces.

I use mine every day to open boxes, cut rope, zip ties, and sometimes cut up some food. Have also used them to cut some small branches that were overgrown. No safequeens to be kept here.

I use mine to pick up women. Although still can't figure out whey they run away or spray me with mace when i show them the smooth action. I always try to show them with a smile too :devilish:

LOL at this!!!

One time that serrations might have been a good idea?

I've use every knife I have to cut something. If only to make sure it will!
I've even used my purple, CPM154 Blur to cut cardboard, and have carried and used it enough that it already looks like it at least has been used. 'Course, a non-trivial amount of that appearance was from me rounding off the thumb-studs to something reasonable that wouldn't cut through my pocketses every time I clipped it in or drew it out. I'm not much for limited editions, and that is the reason. I like to make my knives mine, not some knife that might be someone else's someday -- unless that someone else is my kid, and I won't be passing any pristine knives on to my kid. I want her to see usage on every one of my knives, so she will see that they were her daddy's.

The only knife that I own that I don't use heavily is my BM 42 because it usually cuts me. I have beaten the snot out of my 561 and it has taken everything very well.

On a side note, I couldn't possibly imagine being an company's representative on a large forum....

Youa aren't wasting time...at least, not all of it is a waste.:D

On topic, yes, I do use my knives to cut, ZT and others. Of course, as an accumulator, they don't get worn out, as I attempt to rotate through them, although some get more use than others. All of them get some use though.

I've often wondered the same thing though, when people whine that there knife is "busted" due to miniscule wiggle, and yet the knife hasn't even had to be sharpened yet!

Hell, my grandfather would have smacked me for being ridiculous if I'd whined about things like that to him. In his day, you actually used tools, and they weren't defective unless they become unsafe.

And knives, strangely enough, tended to look like they'd been sharpened.;)
