Cut with your knife?

Firstly, I want to get this out of the way: Thomas, you are very much appreciated here, by me and, I'm sure, the vast majority of the rest of the members.

I certainly use my knives; some more than others (my old G-10 Wild Wild Turkey has the most use of the bunch), and I do have a very few that have never been used beyond fondling (except for my user WWTurkey, all of my "High Tech Series", including G-10 and Ti Wild Wild Turkeys, G-10 and Ti Hawks, G-10 and Ti Talons, G-10 and Ti Starkey Ridges, Cheetah, King Cheetah, Cheetah Cub, and my original Random Task). I have 50+ Kershaws (and growing!), including 3 ZT's (love the 0780!) with a 0550 on the way.

Whoa whoa whoa hold on... Three Tilts and all you've got is an Etha? :p

To be honest, I'd have put the money into the knives also. NICE!

Thomas,
Don't get down man!

I use my Leek quite a bit and my wife uses the Chive. I would LOVE to use a Zero Tolerance knife, but I'm trying to be patient... waiting for the ZT0777. :D

Use my Kershaw or ZT every day, for lots of things. I recently been using my Speed Bump G10, then 0301 (getting pretty dull), Red Blur lately, black blur ce has gotten a break, and carried my tanto grey 1660 a bit, leeks do well on cigars. I enjoy cutting my cigars instead of those plug things. The Outcast is getting a make over, or it would be getting a lot more use than it has.

I carry my Kershaws/ZTs once in a while, but I always carry along an Enlan/Sanrenmu for the actual cutting.

Heck yeah, I have not bought a knife that I have not used (except a few cheapies I got rid of). I am patiently waiting for the BF Skyline, and you better believe it will see a lot of use.

I use my knife every day. Even if it's just to slice up a piece of fruit during lunch. I do however obsess, and flick, or flip. If my equipment is in perfect condition, then I don't obsess. If my equipment has some kind of 'quirk' then I do the obsessing until it's corrected. This is only for gear above a certain price point.

With so many great offerings out there, manufacturers have to really work hard to ensure their product is flawless. With that said; Kershaw is an awesome company and are really a cut above the rest. I can speak with experience.

And yes, when I'm not using my knife everyday, I'm playing with them during downtime.

I have certainly cut my share of air with my knives, I rarely carry one, in fact my most common line is "if I only had a knife " sometimes if I come across a blem that is not sellable, I may use it a bit. I have a serious knife sickness, and yes my name is Dave and I am a Kershawaholic !

Of course...how else can I open the shipping boxes which arrive with new knives? :D

In all seriousness, we had a serious ivy infestation to deal with this past weekend....my 0550 performed admirably.

I don't get as much of a chance as I would like, but I do use mine. I am rather late to the party, having just purchased my first Kershaw in several years about 6 months ago, a S30v Blur that lived in my pocket and was only recently booted by my newly acquired ZT 0560 from Dave (great guy to deal with BTW). Packages and boxes are mostly what it eats. Surprisingly, there are a large number of packages I open daily, especially at home. Seems like I am always needing to open a pack of noodles, or those frozen dinner meals in the bag, or some veggies, or something along those lines.

Of course I cut with them! I carry a Leek, Cryo, or Cyclone every day. Sometime I need to grab a ZT and see what all the buzz about those is about.

I go out of my way to cut things, because it's fun.

On the opposite side of that I do a lot of flipping, fondling, staring, opening, closing. I think we all do..... it's part of being a knife enthusiast.

I enjoy using my 0200 for everything. I trust that knife more than most, plus the blade coating can really take a beating without showing it!

I had to laugh at a guy in another forum telling a guy asking for a good knife under 40.00 .He said to stay away from Kershaw because of steel and design and build quality.here is his post
if you dont really have high standards for knives[design/build quality/blade steel] than get a cheap kershaw. if you have some standards get a tenacious. in that price range ur probably looking at an 8cr13mov or aus-8, or one of kershaws cheap budget steels. i would stay away from aus-8 and kershaws steels. if youre lucky maybe you could get a delica or endura for that price.
my response
Say what!!!Your insane i own 22 Kershaw all come razor sharp excellent fit and finish. USA made come in a great quality steel in sandvik 14c28n steel the China models same as Spyderco in 8CR13MOV..If you don't have "High standards" get off your pedestal man ..

I'm sure some of you more knife savy guys could of said better but this dude pissed me off.I had to try real hard not to go off
