Cutlery Proposals for the Bladeforums 2015 Knife

Ix-Nay on the odern-May ife-knay!

Wow, I've got to keep it touch more!

Thanks for all your hard work, Charlie (and Eric). I must say the CSC with the bolsters really calls to me. Just seemed classic. Like the GEC too but always scared of getting an unusable nail-breaker.

But then again, I'm usually one to always buy a forum knife no matter what it turns out to be.

My sentiments exactly. Charlie, what ever you guys decide, you know I'm in for one, can't break up the collection at this point. ;)

Anyway great job folks, I've been away to long taking care of family issues so I posted to keep updated and in the loop, if I miss the sign up please put me in for one and when the commitment part comes you know I'm in without a doubt and I'll get payment in, (I've already got $70 in my knife fund, it's amazing how fast change accumulates :) )

Thanks again for all you folks have done, you have my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for continuing our tradition.

Germany's F-Dick have made a few versions, one still available. Nice knives for well less than $50.

Looks great that one but at that price I have a sneaky suspicion that we are not getting a complete picture of its whereabouts of manufacture.

Dude! That's a One-hand Opener.

knarfeng - I thought you were writing in Klingon until I read your 2nd post.

Here is another F-Dick version which may meet your approval.

F Dick 9cm Folding Knife, Olive Wood Handle. NEW! I bought this one in Australia on eBay in Mar 2014 for Australian $58.00 now available for same price and even less in US $ now since our dollar dropped= US $45. Apparently some still available.

F Dick Olive Wood Folding Knife - 9cm blade - BNIB! Butcher, Hunter, Fishing.

My lock back folder blade code 8 2004 09 and box ID is "Taschemesser Folding Knife 8 2004 09 9Cm / 3 1/2""
http://www.dick.de/en/product_search.php?search_prod1=Folding
Mine has a very nice firm and positive lock up with beautifully grained burl olive wood scales that appear to be raw timber and may require timber oiling.
Blade marked HIGH CARBON NO STAIN. Mine came with a distinctly clipped blade without a nail nick, three brass pins and a brass blade pivot rather than the earlier model pictured with screwed on scales and thumb stud. There is also a lock back "Taschemesser Folding Knife 8 2004 07 7cm / 3" version" older model.

I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood. Although I was not Catholic myself, I learned "pig-Latin" early on.

And that is a gorgeous knife.

I'm pretty sure that the Bladeforums Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades knife forums 2015 knife isn't going to be a lockback.

I like lockbacks. I own several.

Having said that, I'll just say that some understanding of the forum's desire for an annual knife would be nice before some of you guys start suggesting knives and clogging up the thread.

Apologies, not posted as an alternative forum knife, just in response to knarfeng that he would like a folder with olive wood scales.
There is almost a 'decision' by public expression/exclamation to go with the CSC shadow knife. The scales and finish are still subject to discussion and it does provide a very good example of what shadow olive wood scales would/may look like on our Forum knife. Also it is hardly clogging a 25 page thread after nearly 500 posts about everyone's desires for what they would like in a forum knife.

This Joker shadow pattern has olive wood covers, carbon-steel blades.

More Wood Shadows: Small Aitor from Spain, carbon leaf blade and Bubinga scales. It's tough in the kitchen.

Well, I apologize if my post came across harshly. That was not my intention. I'd prefer not to hear about how well certain models of knives lock in this thread, but it's not the end of the world.

Olive wood can be, and usually is, very attractive. It was not clear to me that your post was addressing that fact.

I have a couple knives in olive wood. Noth have pretty nice grain and have a very pleasant odor to them. I think it's great stuff.

There was somebody interested in Olive wood covers. Twasn't I.
I just though the knife he posted was extremely handsome.

No harm no foul. Play ball.

Here is Canal Street Olive wood on their half Moon Trapper

It is lovely, and greys with usage
But what Eric has shown us is far more spectacular
