Daniel prentice ripped me off!!!

Oh, and Ron LaBella, thanks for calling us "clowns". Us "clowns" went out of our way to contact Daniel to get this resolved. Us "clowns" had to put up with Iceman ranting and raving at us when we tried to help. Us "clowns" did our best to help out.

As for your statement, "Let's get Iceman straight and then continue being the Worldwide Internet Police Force, the rest of youse clowns.", what the hell have you done but come in here and insulted us?

You asked for help. We gave it. You insult us. You ask Daniel to make things right. He has been actively working to make it so. And we are "clowns". Hmmm...

Randy Wiggins

YOU took it upon YOURSELF to contact DP after Iceman didn't respond to your request for additional e-mail proof.

Do you think he would have eventually responded here if you didn't?

A deal is not done until BOTH parties are satisfied. J has not received his other knife so NOTHING has been resolved yet.

you seem to be the MOST inquiring member on the subject, you even found out some info BEFORE iceman did ;)

I am taking no sides here, but you do not know that, Iceman never posted the information he had received from DP as requested by others.

i've done deals with iceman, he is solid as can be and a stand up guy.

Do you think that Daniel is psychic and omniscient? And yes, I volunteered to help. Do you have a problem with forum members helping forum members?

A deal is not done until BOTH parties are satisfied. J has not received his other knife so NOTHING has been resolved yet.

Never said it was. I said it appears to be in the process of being worked on.

Your point? I volunteered to help Iceman. The same Iceman who was jumping on other forum member for asking for more information. The same Iceman who posted a complaint but offered nothing to help. I find out information because I ask. I choose to try to be polite and helpful. Do you find fault with this attitude?

Look, it is real simple. Iceman jumped on everyone asking him for more information. I simply volunteered my time and my energy to help out. If any of you have a problem with that, fine. I don't understand it, but fine.

I fail to see the point of saying *anything* at all to me other than a simple thank you for volunteering to help get this thing resolved. Even though Iceman was lashing out at fellow forum members, I offered to help by contacting Daniel and seeing if I could get him here to respond.

Folks, you either want to see this thing resolved or not. If you choose to be antagonizing and argumentative, I guarantee you all that will happen is that a few people will get angry and nothing will get accomplished. I, for one, am getting pretty fed up when accusations and insults are thrown my way just for trying to help out and keep things calm so things can get worked out.

So, please, do you want to help Iceman recover something or do you just want to inflame matters, piss people off who are trying to help and otherwise be a PITA.

I don't know any of you, personally. I am open about who I am, where I am and even post my real name. I don't have an agenda, other than simply wishing to help out. I don't want to see anyone's reputation destroyed and I also don't want to see anyone ripped off. If that offends you or you find fault that in any way, fashion or form, fine.

What, exactly are you trying to accomplish?

all I'm saying is that a man is out of hard earned money and had been waiting since JANUARY for a knife that was already made.

IF Iceman had said send over some replacements, waited 9 months and finally said "just give me my money back" two weeks ago, does that make him wrong?

assuming that was the case, that's the way DP calls it.

I still say that all is not settled until all knives are where they need to be.

Randy,

you seem a little bent out of shape. Nice breakdown of my initial post, you even agreed with me once.

I have no problems helping forum members, it's actually why I'm here in this thread after all.... :D

let's not make this thread about what kind of clever crap we can spout back and forth. There are BIGGER matters.

Iceman needs his knife for all to be right. until then, we have this.

i agree.
why the iceman has to wait 9 months ??? this is not about sides , is about a customer who has nothing but excuses in exchange for his money.

I totally agree. And I apologize if I seem out of sorts. I assure you I am not. I, too, want to see Iceman get his knives. From what I understand, Daniel is hand making these knives while dealing with injuries and the military. He has made one and finishing another and will make another. I understand that takes time. It is a bad situation all around but this all could have been avoided if Iceman had been honest with us to begin with. Turns out Daniel was communicating and trying to make it right. Iceman should have only posted here when things completely broke down and then he should have been willing to answer questions and post relevant information as was repeatedly requested OR just stated that he had a bad experience and left it at that.

I really enjoy the fact that forum members are so willing to band together and help each other out. That's a primary reason I am here, I enjoy the community esprit. But here is a piece of advice, if you have a problem and bring it to the attention of the community, don't lash out when more information which is needed to help you is requested. Also, when the parties start communicating, our job is done. We only aggravate things when we egg it on, intentionally or not.

Again, I agree with you completely, it absolutely won't be over until Iceman and Daniel agree that it is over. Now that they have both communicated publicly, and are working things out, I just think we should keep our big noses (and mouths) out of it and let them work through it. We accomplished what we could, i.e. get them talking here. However it's hard for them to communicate with all the clutter.

It is up to them now. In fact, I think it would be best for me, at least, not to continue posting and cluttering up this thread. I've explained my role in all of this and it is complete. If anyone would like to continue discussion with me, please take it to PM's or email.

Iceman, Daniel, good luck. Here's to hoping that everything gets worked out okay!

I have done biz with Iceman, and he is a good guy. I have also done biz with some other members in this thread, who are also good guys. I hope that Daniel and Iceman get this worked out.

Man, I hope I never hit any kind of hard times with some members on BF. Your lack of understanding and empathy for DP mystify me. He has stated he is goin to make it right. He has also explained what situations he is going through, including very personal details. In fact he has posted more info than Iceman ever provided in this thread. I sincerely hope that Iceman receives what he is due though, and I believe DP is trying to put things right. For those of you whom have never sufferd with PTSD or chronic pain, you may wish to rethink your narrow, black and white interpertation of what should happen in a transaction. Life is way too short for the level of anger and singlemindedness displayed by some of you. I will not name names, you know who you are. Daniel, I pray you get well, get strong, and find a light in the dark that you presently find yourself in.

i live with chronic pain (bad back from an accident, back in '90) and have had a bit of PTSD myself and i have yet to use that as an excuse to not keep my word,

in life sometimes ya gotta just suck it up and do the right thing & not look for excuses not to.

if ya cant do that dont enter into deals with folks when ya know ya might not be able to hold up your end of the bargain.

whats right is right even when no one does it and whats wrong is wrong even if everyone does it, do the right thing.

even though most of us will never actually meet each other we do trades and such with each other involving hundreds if not thousands of dollars so ones word counts for a lot in this place, really its all we have to go on from one another, when i did a trade for a custom emerson my girlfriend was astounded i planned to send a guy a $800 specwar CQC8 & $400 and he was gonna send me a emerson custom CQC13 with me being in texas and him being in singapore, she couldnt believe i was doing that(the $400 was from her for my birthday), and was even more shocked a week later when i got my knife exactly as described, she just couldnt believe it, so ones word and what he says he'll do counts for one helluva lot around here & folks get upset when other folks dont do what they say they are gonna do, its really easy to understand,

Randy- you are very self serving in your posts. You think by telling him to, that Iceman owes you to post emails etc.? Very interesting dogpiling behavior. Daniel Prentice went long on promises and failed to deliver, yet YOU want to treat Iceman as if HE is the criminal due to YOUR ideas and ways of thinking?

The only reason he posted this information here was as a last resort. Well, LOW and behold he got some communication going whether YOU (in all of your glory while saving the internet) or anyone else got it, HE got it. Iceman got it, by posting this thread.

It does not matter what I did, my name is in red and I have more posts, blah blah blah, I am a Moderator and I also own a very successful forum of my own, blah blah blah, I also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I hope you didn't sprain your arm patting yourself on the back. Daniel Prentice is the one being held accountable here, *NOT* Ron LaBella.

Some such shit as I have never heard! Try that noise elsewhere and see who lets that steaming pile of shit fester for a while and see how fast you end up in court or worse in jail. This is not just cyberspace, this is REAL LIFE. Get a friggin' grip Mr. Excuse Maker!

And to you, Amen BROTHER. You have your head and feet planted solidly on terra firma.

The Worldwide Internet Police Force rides yet again!

If my friend Keith Montgomery posts in this thread it will make my day, let alone year.

I am Ron LaBella and I endorse this message.

After reading every post in this thread, my conclusion is this, excuses are like assholes, everyone has one! Man up and build the knives, no excuses about single income, addiction or whatever to pills, getting ripped off, someone buying a stolen knife from ebay, moving etc. etc. As for long as it has taken in the enusing months you should have been able to build these two knives for Iceman. Just sayin, keepem sharp

This thread is locked for now, to give you all a couple of days to cool off. A dispute between buyer and seller turned into slinging insults at people participating in the discussion. Not cool. Discuss the topic, not each other, and keep the unnecessary vulgarity out of it.

And, as a moderator, you SHOULD know better than to post such "bad" language here in this forum!...This ISN'T "Whine & Cheeze"!.:grumpy:.

Iceman, glad to see this out in the open! Hopefully now you will get the Knife that you have been owed and waiting on for so long! Daniel I hope that you can work through the problems in your life, and close the deal with John as he is a Top Notch knifenut in this worldwide knife community!

I agree with the others that are saying to hell with excuses;unless your dead.I am a nam vet;disabled(4 back surgeries,PTSD and hep c) and now at 55 I still do work on peoples cars and when I promise something I do it no matter the pain or all the other crap;I do it and it gets done. That said with my disabilities I don't move as fast as I used to but it doesn't take me nine months to complete a 40 hour job.I always take in to account my disabilities and if things get worse I talk to my customers and work things out PROMPTLY.So man up and get this done and ask for forgiveness for all the hassle your procrastinations caused.

When Iceman speaks I listen, he has a solid reputation in the knife community. Taking 9 months to right a wrong is unacceptable in my book. Members saying give the maker a break, must just have money to throw away. I would have expected nothing less than a full refund. I surprised you have had this much patience to wait 9 months before stating your case. I hope you get what is owed to you, I'd say you've waited long enough. ILK
