Clearly, You fella's (Simon Pig and lchine) need some sort of counseling....You have issues and it frightens me............
I do however concur with what Jaeger stated, you will not be disappointed with the knife sheath. You just lose the ability to carry inverted. Not a big deal unless you feel it's necessary kill a tree, or your friend for that matter, quicker.
The sheath I have is VERY, VERY well done and the friction fit is VERY good. The knife kind of quietly snaps into it.
The pictures;
The first picture is of me stripping the bark of the small tree with the draw knife. This bark, on the young tree's, makes pretty good cordage. The cordage was used to tie together a frame for the back side of a small shelter that was constructed with the Beck. I have before/after pictures of the shelter but they did not come out as I had hoped.
( I will look them over again and send them to AlphalphaPB. AlphalphaPB has gone out of his way and in my opinion ABOVE AND BEYOND to get these up for all to see. I am indebted to him. Thank you brother.)
The next picture is of a spring loaded snare. If you look to the upper right hand corner of the picture you can see the small hook and notched piece that holds the "loaded" snare in the ready position.
This set up required VERY small notches and pieces. They were done with the Beck. It is capable of small tasks. Of course it would have been easier to do with the SAK, but what fun would that have been.
Next picture is of a figure 4 trap constructed with the Beck. No problem encountered.
I did not get a chance to test the sawbacks like I had hoped. This weekend will be a little less busy.
tknife,
I do plan on eventually getting the W.S.K. companion, but I don't need it right now. I really like the SAK Rucksack and have found it to be a great little very versatile companion knife.
greenbladepb,
I have #560
As far as keeping the TOPS, I went through an nasty wire fence with mine in no time. That feature works well. Email me
