David Martin - RIP

David was the embodiment of what Bladeforums has been about from inception. He was Knowledgeable yet more than willing to hear others opinions if they differed from his. There were some threads here from years ago where opinions flared a bit but David wouldn’t bite. His character of fair and balanced was apparent from the beginning and I knew he was one of the good guys.
I will miss you, David.
I am so sorry for his loved ones that have lost a great man way too soon. It just isn’t fair.

Absolutely shocked when I noticed the title of this thread. Never met David but from his interaction with all of us on here It was easy to tell he had a great soul. Truly a great kind Man. He spoke of his wife Leesa on an occasion on here and it was obvious he loved her very much. David will be missed by us all.
Rest in peace my friend.

Oh no. This is very sad news. Thank you for sharing. I am very sorry for your loss.

I always appreciated his posts and his willingness to share his knowledge. He had a kindness and polite delivery that really impressed me. I was glad to see him become a moderator here on the Buck forum.

This has me in tears! I share in everyone’s disbelief and sorrow and my thoughts and prayers to all his Family, Friends and his Buck Brothers and Sisters here.
I always liked the way he ended every post with his initials.

So much so i would start ending my post with my initials out of respect. So thank you DM we will miss you.

Hi folks, it's been awhile since I've been here on BF but I got some bad news this morning and figured I should pass along the word here, since from what I can tell my Uncle Dave was still fairly active here.

Thursday morning my Uncle, David Martin, at home in New Mexico, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. The rest of us in the family were pretty stunned since he was in pretty good health and had only just retired from the Dept. of Agriculture a couple years ago. If any of y'all know his wife, Leesa, she is doing alright so far, one of their daughters and her husband are there with her and the other should be getting into town fairly soon as well.

I really hate for this to be the way I jump back in here but I know Dave always loved knives and Buck knives in particular. He's probably one of the main reasons I got into them so many years ago as well. I hope I'm not intruding on any rules here at the forum, but I saw that he was a Mod and wasn't sure if there'd be anyone else passing the word along here.

He was one of my favorite Uncles and he'll be sorely, sorely missed. But I'm also grateful and thankful he had a heart for the Lord and know that he's resting easy in Heaven with the rest of our family that's waiting for us to join them.

Best wishes to all of you, I know he loved the community we have here and it's a real loss that he won't be around anymore.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a good man and will be sorely missed.

This is very sad news. David was a serious do it yourself guy. I enjoyed his posts on hunting, dogs, sharpening, putting up firewood, raising animals, processing meat, going to gun and knife shows, living on a little “Ponderosa”, etc. David was a good moderator and educator. He was welcoming and encouraging to new posters. Condolences to Leesa and family. David will be missed.
