December 2021 BOTM?

Looking at the pictures on the Buck website (which I assume is one of the better specimens), the scale fitting doesn't look great
FYI On the take apart knives I have there is a 'v groove' where the bolster meets the scale...
Makes it look like the scale and bolster don't meet.

A pocket clip would have saved me $500 ..... can't stand them. I would have passed over this botm if it had one.

My EDC is a 112LT -- with a nail nick and a sheath on my belt. I hate a knife in my pocket, almost as much as a pocket clip digging into my palm. The 112LT is the ultimate EDC imo -- weighs nothing, perfect blade size, rugged nylon sheath, and a virtually unscratchable stonewashed blade. Love it.
Yeah, it's too bad the 112LT isn't available anymore, and it's one I kick myself for passing on... "I'll pick one up later" is sometimes NOT the correct move. Who knew? I'll find one someday.

I'm a 112 fan and I was definitely tempted. Maybe if it was a different time of the year I would have gotten one, but spending that kinda money on myself right before Christmas wouldn't be right. I dig the take apart aspect, but I think they could have found some more subtle hardware. And throw in the brown sheath....

I hope the fit and finish will be on par with the price. But on the take apart models I would think there would be some air gap at the scales to facilitate removal and reassemble. Also there’s probably a chamfer at the edges to prevent damage when working and cleaning the knife. If the edges and fit were the same as a non take apart model it would be difficult for them to be taken apart and likely be damage at the fit points so it’s necessary to have appropriate fit tolerance to facilitate take apart design.

24 hours - 449 sold. Only 51 left !

According to the Buck website -

"All orders must be in before the below shipping deadlines for delivery by Christmas - USPS Priority Mail - December 16th"

So, today is the last day to order this knife, when using the Priority Mail option at check out, if you want it by Christmas ! (There is a Fed-ex 2 day option with a December 20th deadline. Additional shipping cost for this option)

EDIT: I just received an email from Buck 12/16/21 - "All orders must be in by 11:59pm (PST) tonight, December 16th for delivery by Christmas."

Some international sellers have them in stock. I actually bought four of them here in Thailand. The box has a sticker that says "For sale outside the U.S. and Canada".

in US converted dollars, what was the price in Thailand?

The advantage of aluminum is the lighter weight. I have the aluminum BOTM and it would lend itself to pocket clip carry really well. Wish Buck would make the clip from the 110 Legacy and 112 Slim Carbon fiber available for purchase. I contacted Buck about this, but their very polite response indicated somebody who had no clue. This was last year when everything was in turmoil so no judgement. I may try again next year. I put a clip on a 112LT and find myself grabbing it frequently. It's just so convenient.

The standard 112 I carry in a sheath and prefer it due to its weight. It's also more comfortable to use without a pocket clip. As with everything there are advantages and disadvantage :)

Really at only $250 (plus tax) why not use it? What some folks are forgetting is that you can TAKE IT APART and configure it to exactly what you want it to be. Use the Black aluminum frame? Sure. Want to keep the S45VN blade pristine? Why not..Got a cool Drop point blade?(I do!) Put that in..The only reason I haven't played with the 3 older versions I have and this one when I get mine home is I'm making a special display for the Blade Show next year and I didn't want to scratch or bung up any of the handles, frames or screws till I have the right tools and make a safe jig to hold it while I play with it. My left hand is frail and my good right hand has carpal tunnel really severe..but I had surgery last week! I'm hoping it recovers but I'm not sure how much it will come back or even if it will. So till I rig up something to hold it securely I don't want to chance it.
Maybe, just maybe, Buck will sell us "parts" in the Custom shop for all the Take-Apart 110's and 112's because I really, really want to play Barbie Bucks with this revolutionary folder Buck has given us.
