December 2021 BOTM?

It's a beautiful knife for sure, Koa is a premium wood and S45VN is great. That being said, I cannot justify paying $250.00 for something that they made qty 500. I would rather pony up a little more and buy a Jag Custom. I will add the budget is a little tight this month and passing on this is not easy. If you buy it and like it, more power to ya!! I say congrats and enjoy and lets see 'em!

I hope so! I didn’t even look at the other objects in that video but for sure the lighting stinks, everything has a weird color to it now that I watched it a few more times.
I also watched it again, at the last second there is a slight color shift. Goes from bad color to bad color.

I want one pretty badly but I'll have to hold out for one of next year's 112 offerings. I'm pretty sure I'll want one of those pretty badly too and I'm hoping it will be more affordable for me. Too bad income tax returns are so close but yet so far away.

I like it, and I may have been tempted to splurge for a Christmas gift to myself, but I just broke a tooth a few days ago.

The dentist said yesterday that it can't be saved and it needs to be taken out and replaced with an implant... $5,000 is the estimate 😲 and not covered by my dental insurance, so much for my knife buying budget for awhile. :(

Bummer.

I hope things work out for you.

You could pass on the implant and use the new knife to cut your food into smaller pieces. :D I can only say this because I had one extracted last week too. That was a hoot!

I like this knife, so many features. The KOA wood is what's drawing me in. I'm still on the fence.

Well I have to give Kudos to Buck for this Home Run 112!! First S45VN 112,first Koa LE, aluminum take apart..I think its a fabulous LE 112 to kick off the 50th..
500.. Five hundred made..That's a lot but consider this if they limited the run to 300 it would already be sold out. As for price of $250.00 many lesser Bucks sell for more. I think it will sell out in less than 48 hours and more importantly be a key knife in any serious 112 or Take-Apart collection. Some will be flipped of course but not for much over $300.00. I'll be having one of course..some FABULOUS 112's were just offered from a long held collection that certainly has my attention but this 112 will rank among the best modern Commertive 112's for many years to come.

Do you know if this is the second 112 take apart offered by Buck ? The first being the 2020 July BOTM.

I'm glad to see you made it to the party before it was over.

I've been really wanting a screw together Buck 112, so this was really, really tempting. In the end, I think I'm going to pass though. If I spend $250 on a 112, I'm going to expect the fit and finish to match that of other knives I have spent ~$250 on. My past experiences have shown me that Buck gives the same amount of care to a higher end BotM, as they do on their regular offerings, so I have a very strong feeling I would be disappointed. The fitting of the scales on the October BotM was among the worst I have ever seen.

Looking at the pictures on the Buck website (which I assume is one of the better specimens), the scale fitting doesn't look great, and the grind on the swedge looks terrible. I hope I'm way off the mark and they turn out beautiful, with fantastic fit and finish. I look forward to the pics!

Less than a 100 left; 98 to be exact. Selling fast if you consider this is the highest price BOTM since the 2019 February 401 Kalinga, original price $250.

I don't see any problem with the swedge; that's just the lighting/shadow. I admit the wood fit doesn't look particularly superb in the pics, but I can't believe Buck would release this LE with shoddily fitting scales. I'm assuming it will rock in the flesh.

price? or no pocket clip?😁
A pocket clip would have saved me $500 ..... can't stand them. I would have passed over this botm if it had one.

My EDC is a 112LT -- with a nail nick and a sheath on my belt. I hate a knife in my pocket, almost as much as a pocket clip digging into my palm. The 112LT is the ultimate EDC imo -- weighs nothing, perfect blade size, rugged nylon sheath, and a virtually unscratchable stonewashed blade. Love it.
