A little bit out of left field, but I have castrated a decent number of cattle, sheep, and goats through my career and recognized the knife could be a useful design for thatFirst Sacto came up with this (out of left field??), and thenJack Black came up with the clincher; the actual pattern in print!!
From YOUNG'S SHEEP DIPS, to SHEEP'S LAST DIP gets to the history, and the ridiculous humor I've been looking for!!
Thanks pal, I don't always have the time, but I'm like a dog searching for a bone when I come across a new cutlery mystery!Great find Jack, always can we count on Jack to get these Sheffield Mysteries solved!
We'll keep providing them as best we can, Jack!!Thanks pal, I don't always have the time, but I'm like a dog searching for a bone when I come across a new cutlery mystery!![]()

Thanks very much!! Really appreciated! The sort of bone & jigging The Old Dog would've appreciated![]()
Thanks Charlie! I think my jigging is bolder but close. Needs the fluting on the bolster once pinned. That will be a different process for me because I usually do the fluting before assembly. This knife has the pin located inside the fluting area. I'm hoping the pin doesn't show up after I file it.Had to post these to compare!!View attachment 1749503View attachment 1749504View attachment 1749505
Amazing work!!
I normally do it before soldering. That way when I screw up, I don't waste a liner and the soldering process. Thanks Charlie! I think my jigging is bolder but close.
