Deposit/ordering instructions for HTM Forum Gunhammer -- ***IMPORTANT***

Just to clarify what I said, is that the GH3 shown in the picture from TrueNorthKnives does NOT appear to have the same blade shown in my Nov. issue of Tactical Knives magazine. I could not find a picture that matches the advertisement. The one in the advertisement looks similar to the fixed blade knife picture I posted. It has a part on the spine that dips just like that knife.

Sorry to drop the bomb this late, but I just noticed it this morning.
 
I don't believe the new blade shape will be on the forum knife. The knife you're talking about was something discussed during Blade Show. I asked Neil for pictures but haven't gotten them yet. He's a busy guy. All I know is that Darrel and Neil confirmed there would be something "different." I'm guessing the picture you saw in your magazine is that. Neil is the owner of TNK. This is the first time I've heard mentioning of it. Would love to see a scan of the knife if you can.
 
Hark, can you let me know if the one from the magazine posted will be the same shape torpedo offered on ours? If so, I'm going to switch from Bowie to this. The reason I really like the Bowie is for the tip shape.. This looks similar..
 
Got a reply from Darrel. My hunch was correct. The knife in the November 2012 ad from True North Knives is an exclusive to TNK, just like the copper handle anodizing and the dark green before that. It will not be offered elsewhere. TNK has a one year run of those knives. Now if that means that the blade shape will not be exclusive after one year, I don't know. What I know, and I've mentioned this before, is this. When a dealer has an exclusive with Darrel, it remains an exclusive. Darrel doesn't break in that regard. That's why you couldn't get m390, because that steel was an exclusive to knifecenter IIRC.

Interesting. To the guys who have seen the Tactical Knives ad, is the new TNK Exclusive blade shape the Torpedo Trident shape that made its debut on one of Darrel's customs recently (see picture below)?

That's it. But the one I saw appeared to have an even more pronounced bump behind the point. More exaggerated I guess.

I will try and post a picture of the ad tonight. Like I said before, the blade shape is simply stunning.

I might have deja vu, but I do *think* now that I've posted pics of different blade shapes before in the past. Lemme see if I can find it. They were all customs though or prototypes of customs, which means anything is game. But for HTM Gunhamemrs, if there's an exclusive, it stays an exclusive.

Yes, sir. In this case it's only the copper handle ano that makes it an exclusive to TNK.

As far as the harpoon is concerned, I just found my old posting. I dunno if my reply down in that thread still holds true or not. It made mentioning of Darrel needing 25 orders to make the harpoon an HTM offering. I'm guessing if that is still the case, it will be after the 1 year TNK run is over. Perhaps next year's HTM forum knife? BTW, it's called the Trident Alpha.

I would love this blade shape, but I am still confused. I know the copper color ano is a TNK exclusive, but so is the tip then?

So the forum knife cannot have this Trident Alpha then?
 
The blade shape TNK is getting is the Trident blade shape. The one that's an option on the S90V forum GH is the standard Torpedo blade shape, as in the picture below. (The Torpedo blade shape on that copper-handled TNK GH that was linked to a page or two back is an older version of the HTM Torpedo blade; the one below is the current version.)

Damn, that blade shape is amazing too. Oh well. I'll stick with what I have now then I suppose.
 
Thanks Neuron and Hark. Man, I still like the current Torpedo blades, but that Trident Alpha from the ad is absolutely stunning. Sorry to cause a ruckus, but that Trident Alpha/Harpoon just speaks to my soul. And maybe my genitals a tiny bit :eek: Don't act like you guys haven't ever been aroused my a knife before :rolleyes:

Maybe next years HTM Forum CPM S110V or CPM REX 121 or CTS Maxamet or K390 Gunhammer can have it...:D

Ooh, that newest pic of the Torpedo clinched it for me. I love that shape! Glad I went torpedo. The grind does look higher on that than on the M390 Bowie I have though...
