Destructive Knife Steel Testing . . .

^I agree : if you dont like something you dont have to watch it but to be forced to shut down and like i said it sounds like the local authorities that does suck . Lets face it theres way worse stuff on tik tok and youtube : especially tik tok !

I don’t think it was authorities or anything. This happened once earlier where his job got wind of what he was doing and some jobs require you to have a level of professionalism about you. His tests were probably okay but the rant in his last video about women and “****ing” the sky, along with all the drama probably didn’t do his actual career image well.

I highly doubt it was any Busse peeps doing the black mailing (if there was even any black mailing going on)

I think he should come back just conduct his tests better and stop ranting and raving swearing up and down about combat knives. Sometimes I and probably most of us forget that ALOT of the world sees knives as killer psycho weapons.

Im used to seeing a 13 Inch Bowie on my kitchen table. My relatives not so much. And in the corporate world, probably wouldn’t be something you share at orientation.

I can't say I'll miss all the splits and shit talking. He seemed pretty neutered in his adios post.

He mentioned sending the broken Busse blades to someone so they can be returned to Busse?

He also mentioned that USA has better free speech rules than where he lives. JOE X comes to America should be a fun Youtube channel.

Tomorrow, I'm starting my "AR-15/M4 rifle variant" abuse channel.

Forget their "real life" accuracy and functioning. Who cares? I'm just going to bang all of 'em against a concrete "Jersey barrier" and steel pipe, until they're broken into several pieces. I'll swing for the fences on the ones that I hate and take it easy on my favorites.

After that, all of you will absolutely know which one is the SUPERIOR battle rifle.

*Hell, I may even smash a few Garands, HK91s, and some FALs.

Yup, he's gone. Weird.

Edit: I didn't really like the guy and I thought he was an idiot, but I am also not stoked to hear whatever this is about "blackmailing" that caused him to stop.
Although, there was no science in his videos, he was entertaining. Sounds like his own military bosses found out about his money making venture and shut him down by the hints he gave. Maybe he should quit the austrian torte making and come to the usa for freedom of speech. I am no fan of anyone being shut down. That's not cool.

Apparently, all the videos are gone. That's definitely his superiors that forced this issue. Someones voice should never be silenced. That's BS.

Happy to see his vids gone. When i first joined here there were long time members doing bad things to their prized Busse's often. Not Joe Ex I'm going to break this thing stuff but testing the limits of their blades in the woods.. Who was the guy throwing his HOGFSH at the stumps? I think he was a SAR guy in the northwest and made kydex sheaths with attached custom pouches for larger blades?
BM's bent and twisted while being battoned into logs and then stuck until they could figure out how to remove it. Then returning true on removal. NOS vids, which I mostly enjoyed.

Too bad Photobucket screwed the masses way back. There were tons of these photos in this forum that were lost due to that mess.

Some of you younguns should take up the torch. Load your woods pack full of INFI, hit the woods and have some fun and take pics for us.

I didn’t like the Joe X reviews. They were silly and some were mildly insulting. But, I don’t like seeing him shut down. I thought his reviews were honest and I was hoping to see his channel mature into something useful.

(edited) to add:
In a world run by incompetence and mediocrity these outlier “black sheep” add value; not because they are right, but because they are often a true reflection of us. in this case, how many of us have asked for Uber steels, unbreakable knives, fail-proof folding locks, edges that last near forever, etc... None of that will ever exist to a level that satisfies and what we should all be looking for is the competence to make the most of our tools.

I see that most people here hated Joe X. I honestly confess that I liked him and I like what he was doing.

He was entertaining. He was showing knives that I didn't know of before. He was showing some things that were totally surprising. And was totally educative, if you just skipped the swear words. If his channel didn't exist, I would have never known that the tip of a scandi grind thin blade can stab through a secured car window without bending nor breaking, even in winter temperatures. I would have never known that D2 tool steel can stab a car, repeatedly, without chipping. I would have never known that 1070 steel @ 53 HRC cannot be destroyed regardless of what you do to it, even if the blade is long and only 2mm thin. I would have never known that a simple design change - like 90 degree spine vs rounded spine can make such a huge difference in snapping vs surviving lateral force (like it happened with Hultafors GK vs Hultafors OK1). And many, many more......

Except for his swearing words and some subjective conclusions from time to time, there was nothing I could dislike in his videos - and listening to that was a fair price to pay for benefiting from the rest.

I am sad for the way his channel ended. And I am specifically sad because this kind of abusive censorship had happened to Noss and Cliff Stamp many years before, so it was not an isolated case. It continues to remind us that freedom and democracy do not exist and the justice is just a subjective way of the powerful to enforce their will and opinions against the weaker.

T TheTip stick around, you’d learn all those things, plus more. Actual educational information vs that monkey’s channel of real use and what knives / steels can take.

As far as the censorship. We are all guest on some form of social platform and must abide by rules and guidelines set. I have no clue why DipstickX was removed. He states blackmail, so seems he wasn’t doing something right, either by his employer or something else. Blackmail generally applies when someone catches you doing something you shouldn’t be doing and exposes you. So keep that in mind before lamenting for the people’s hero.

So he just posted this on his youtube

For those who don't want to click the link -

Jerry BUSSE wrote me! U all need to read this!!!! @BusseKnifeGroup

I just read where you are leaving YouTube. I am very sorry to hear this. We had planned on sending you a couple of the knives that we had discussed earlier for your testing. These models have their geometry tuned for your intended use, and I have no doubts that you will be blown away by the toughness and overall performance of INFI. We are currently in the process of making these blades and they should be ready to ship in approximately 6-12 weeks. I realize that you are no longer making videos for the public, but if you are still interested in breaking some blades just for fun, then we would love to hear your feedback. We don't need your tests to be filmed because your feedback will only be used for our internal research purposes, NOT for advertising. We will NOT mention your name or that you did any of the testing. If you would like to have a couple of these knives for your own personal use after testing, we would be happy to send you some. To be clear, these "personal use knives" are not meant to be a payment of any sort, just a thank you for your time.We are looking for your honest opinion and believe there is much value in your feedback. If this sounds like something that you might still be interested in, please let me know. If not, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors,

Jerry Busse

Which is awesome. But this has done nothing to satiate his rabid fanbase who continue to accuse Jerry of being the cause of all of this. This whole situation has gotten entirely out of hand and I don't even know what Joe intended by posting this. At first glance it seems that he is trying to show his followers that Busse is a stand up business, but on the same breath he goes and pins a comment and likes it, of a fan of his accusing BKG of being the cause of all of this.

If Joex's post regarding Jerry's email was in good spirit I doubt he'd like comments like this

There are other less than stellar, outright rude remarks and unfounded accusations in the comments of his post.

I just wish the drama would stop and we could get back to liking knives.

With all that being said - I only have one thing to say to Joex

Edit: I had AI make this picture to sum up my feelings as a whole.

So, is that the gist of it? His fanboys think that Jerry Busse did him in?

...or is that just the conspiracy theory of that one particular fanboy?

I don't think this thing started recently. I think it's probably been coming for a long time.

The fanboys who are mad at his cancellation are the same fanboys that cheered him on and emboldened him. They would kiss his @ss after every test and started to refer to him as "the King". He got blinded by his own legend and, suddenly, everything became "sh!t"..."This is sh!t", "Look at this sh!t", etc., etc., etc. His "testing" and harmless opinions morphed into school yard insults and him acting like his "tests" actually had some empirical value. He lost me when he started running his cake hole, in a disparaging way, in regard to knives about which I knew better.

I'm one person. However, if I felt he was putting out false info, I reckon that there were probably a lot of other folks who felt the same. When you're playing at that level, that kinda' nonsense can bite you in the @ss. Beyond that, karma is a real b!tch. Piss off enough folks, and it's only a matter of time before the ground under your feet swallows you whole.

The correspondence from Jerry gives me two thoughts.

One, I don't know Jerry Busse. I couldn't pick him out in a room of five dudes. I've probably spoken to him twice, on the phone, in the last decade. So, I have absolutely no reason to defend the man. However, from a "gut" standpoint, there is nothing about Jerry's correspondence that gives me any kinda' "disingenuous" vibes. I've read Jerry's posts about JoeX and have always felt that he (*Jerry) was intrigued and challenged by the idea of JoeX getting his hands on some INFI. I never gotten a single vibe that Jerry felt threatened about one of his knives being broken or shattered. For me, Jerry's correspondence, and the offering of some "optimized" knives, make me believe that even more. Who knows? Maybe I've been duped.

My second thought has to do with JoeX's "swan song" video. It was very cryptic. He gave info, but not much, just enough to stir up his fanboys and the other "influencers". It has me wondering why? Is he under some gag order or the like? Fine, then just say that. However, unlike Jerry's correspondence, the whole "cryptic" thing does seem a bit disingenuous. Beyond that, if he's not under a gag order or something similar, and feels really wronged in some way, why not just call someone (*or some folks) out?...old school, playground style. He still has the platform. In my past jobs, when there was a pretty heated issue, the absolute BEST meetings I had were the ones where everyone would go in and start slinging sh!t at each other like a bunch of rabid gorillas. Was it pretty? No. Effective and efficient? Absolutely. It put all the cards on the table. That has me wondering why JoeX hasn't.

Anyhow, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I just thought it was worth mentioning, as I read the majority of the comments regarding his cancellation and his videos prior to this. More out of morbid curiosity than anything else. It may not be the general consensus but there are a vocal few who are making it very clear that it's their opinion. Joe doesn't help, as he tends to like these comments, but not every comment showing him good will. They go so far as to comment the same on every video being put out on Joe currently. There's a rather large number of content creators who are voicing their opinions on what's happened. I want to clarify I take absolutely no stock in their assertions. But I did want it known that Joe appears to be stirring the pot, in his own special way, as you stated.
