Diamonds in the Rough!

My latest new-to-me D-E, a smooth bone barlow!

I do love the D-E line, definitely my favorite imperial make. They are quite nice knives, I carry my jack quite a bit. It was "sharpened" by the previous owner on a grinder, so there is some loss of blade and kicked out heels on the blades, but it takes and holds an edge quite well, and the carbon springs are strong and responsive but not too hard to open. No pics atm sorry. I did see a cool D-E fixed blade skinner at the flea market today, and a wood handle shadow construction D-E fishing knife.

Beautiful smooth bone DE Shapleigh Barlow Phil:thumbup: When do you think it dates from? I am guessing pre WWII. Anyway very nice acquisition. Thanks for posting a photograph, Lloyd

I just added a new DE to my collection, possibly the best one yet. To say I am excited would be a serious understatement!

With one of Charlie's Diamond Jacks... GEC did a spectacular job of replicating this old pattern.

That is a BEAUTY Phil! The blade etch is just fabulous. I would be jumping for joy if I just scored that one too:triumphant: it has everything you look for in a high grade vintage collectible folder. Thanks for bringing this thread back to life with such a notable addition. Congratulations, Lloyd
