Diamonds in the Rough!

Thank you Paul!!! :D

Jerry, Shapeigh Hardware contracted from a couple different cutlers to make knives under their Diamond Edge brand. Most of the knives you see here were made by Schrade, and a few by Empire.

I'm not 100% certain on this so someone correct me if I'm wrong. From what I understand Imperial bought the rights to the Diamond Edge name after Shapleigh went out of business and started producing more economical knives under the brand name.
Thanks Phil. More convolutions to the incestuous knife business.

Wonderous specimens, Philll!!

Since I am carrying it today....and it is rough:D

Thanks, Charlie!! One day science will find a way for these things to tell us their story (if its true that memory is stored in every cell in your body, then...):D

Charlie, both that Saddlehorn lockback and the Arkansas Hunter are un-be-liev-able!!! :eek: I've never seen anything quite like them. That settles it, I ever get to commission a knife, that will be it.

Gevonovich, great photo! Love the textures! Truly a knife that won't give up.

Philllll, Charlie, and Gevo - wonderful old diamonds !!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

Hey Charlie.... :D:eek::p:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Yeah? (yawn!!:yawn:) Um, somebody scribbled on the blade. Oh, and look; the handle's got holes in it (grunt - burp!:rolleyes:) Ten bucks, I'll take it off yer hands!!
Not a penny more!!:eek:

Nice knife!!:D

Great job Phill, you are doing remarkable in your endeavor. That last DE looks almost like a Challenge, spectacular knife.

Thanks Lyle :D

The cattle knife certainly looks different than the others. I don't think it's Schrade made.

Thanks for starting this thread Phill! I don't own many DE's but I'll need to start looking out for them more often. Here's a real nice half whittler, hope to post more DE's in the future ;)

My very first knife was a Diamond Edge scout. Unfortunately, it was of Imperial manufacture. It was a great knife though. Not an Imperial shell knife, but a real scout pattern, like the one below. After over 15 years of searching for another one, I finally found one 8 months ago. I was quite impressed with the quality. A good sturdy scout.
