Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

tsous - You really do some splendid carving. Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff Duane, that's looks like an interesting project.

Here's a tease Thom;) Yup, my traditional Barlow did get a workout today, and I am tired now :)

My GEC 66 opened a fresh pack of coffee and helped me make devilled mushrooms on toast for lunch.

Thought I'd be eating salads at this time of the year :(

A special knife helped me on my special day...for my cake later ;)

Yes, you can have your cake and eat it too! :D

Nice to see that Duane. Great pic :)

Is it your birthday?

+1 on the carvings, Tyler, they rock!

I am newly on this slippery slope of the traditional knife and am working on exploring different patterns to see what works best for me. So my first slippy, a Frost Wharncliffe half whittler (? not sure about that description - it has 2 blades :p), has been my edc for a few weeks since it came. Today it hacked out the long grass jamming up our reel mower, stripped bark off and smoothed part of my light walking cane and then helped with lunch:

Today's lesson? The main blade is too short for efficient food prep!

I am enjoying reading everyone's edc tales... thanks to all :)

I was out trout fishing this morning and didn't catch a thing. My Krein B&T went unused, so it helped me eat some lunch.

Sorry to hear about the fishing Gary, we're all 'watter-licked' sometime, as they say in Yorkshire ;) Better luck next time :)

The creek was high and muddy after the recent rains, so I wasn't surprised. I appreciate the better luck next time.

Beats working, anyway!

You got that right!
"Born to fish forced to work" is my motto!
(although I am retired now, and what I work on is totally my choice....well pretty much.....there is my wife..... ;))

That Krein's a very neat compact outdoor knife. Looks like it works well indoors too:D:thumbup:

Today a GEC 55 Houndstooth (Wharncliffe) sliced some wallpaper, opened some bills (not again..) cut ties for a climber, cut a pear (fave fruit). I feel it earns its corn.

Regards, Will

That Krein is a gorgeous looking knife.....but that Mora is no slouch in the strawbs either.

Nice stuff guys.

fishing IS my work. :D my mountain man didn't get much of a workout lately. I have been doing most of my cutting on the deck with the deck knives I keep laying around because they are by the helm and hauler and things move along much quicker.

Inspired by Jack Black in another thread, methinks I'll keep this one with me today.ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21371906302.078161.jpg

Thanks Jack,
