Today I went out walking the woods. I took along my recurve bow, and Case Seahorse Whittler

As I walked around a pond I usually squirrel hunt near, I noticed an abundance of bullfrogs.

I usually go frogging with an air gun, but have gigged a lot of frogs as a young man. So I made a quick gig

Every morning I cut 6 apples. My kiddos hate eating the peel.

I usually have a few chores through out the day that require attention.

Randomly, my 2 1/2 yr. old daughter will come up to me and say. "Daddy cut." So, of course the string, ribbon, box, or whatever she has will be cut. :D Afterwards she usually says, "Daddy's pocket knife cut ... danger it cut me."

Sorry .. no pics. Just thought this thread needed a bump. ;)
 
The shovel and mattock did the rough work, but this got dirty: slashing the roots of some arbor vitae before planting, and cutting off an extant root in the way.

Used the point of my clip blade from my 1973 Case stockman to clean crud from the scroll wheel of a computer mouse.
 
No offense intended but do most of you use your pocket knives for kitchen duties? I will on occasion slice an apple, orange or something similar with my pocket knife but generally I use my kitchen knives for food purposes.

Some do. Some don't. I'm not sure that there is a preponderance of either.
Personally, I don't.
 
Had my new Rough Rider marlinspike in my pocket and I'll be darned if my boy didn't need to pick apart some knots to re-hang my grandson'e new tree swing.

Responding to Supratentorial: Thanks for noticing my new scout. I love it because the metal is all steel and the plating is largely intact, because I was able to repair the can-opener for free with no skill or effort, and because it reminds me of Grampa's bone Camillus USMC scout.

That is the Boker Evergreen "2-blade stockman". There may still be some of the 500 out there; I think the name put off stockman people and jackknife people alike. Or maybe it was the strangely pale olive-wood.

I use mostly kitchen knives in the kitchen also, but I love my kitchen knives as well as my belt and pocket knives, and when I need a patina I force it with potato buds.
