Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

That's funny Jack, I was just scrolling down, came across Doug's picture and went Mmmmmmmm, then I got to your post
:-)

Pete

:)

Great pics guys, nice to see some fresh activity in this thread :)

My wife asked me if I would could peel and cut some apples for her... for sure I did ;)

The Brukskniv did a great job.

Do I smell strudel Andi?! :)

Bit too hot to cook here today. I was doing some repair work on a piece of furniture and used duct tape to hold it together while the glue hardened. Then used my Case Texas Jack to remove all the duct tape - we call it 'gaffer tape' here - afterwards.

I don´t know exactely what she is baking, but it smells just great ;) Maybe an applecake or even a strudel... I´ll see... :D

Lucky you! :)

Great pic Woodrow, be interested to know what you make of that pattern sometime :)

Thanks Jack, my daughter hasn't been eating/feeling great, she's teething, her molars are coming in, this is one of the meals she can't resist.

Sorry to hear that Pete. hope everything is right again soon :)

I used an Imperial Sodbuster to prepare salad. First time I've used it, nice little cheapie.

VERY excited about finding Snyders in a local supermarket! And on 'special offer' too! :)

Well, the rain stopped last night, so I have stopped searching the interwebs for plans to build an ark. And the sun actually shone brightly today!

Since Monday is my day off I had plenty of work to do, to tame the jungle and turn it back into a yard again. Part of that was removing the tree limbs that came down in the last storm, and cutting them down to size that the sanitation department yard trash guys will haul away. I don't own a chain saw, so I do it the old fashioned way, with a hand saw to cut limbs, and an Ontario fixed blade to baton and cut smaller twigs off the limbs.

A little closer look

ETA the following photo. Now that the fallen limbs are cut down to size, and the tall grass has been cut, my front yard looks halfway decent again. I probably cut it too short, but with all the moisture we have had, the sunshine is going to make it grow like crazy, and I have out of town family coming this weekend for a friend's wedding (no time to mow again until at least next Monday).

Great job Doug, you have a lovely place there :)

Nice garden Doug!

Andi - I hope that whatever your good lady cooked it was tasty?

Pete - Good to see your culinary exploits again! Hope the lil'uns gnashers aren't giving her too much jip.

Jack - What? Where? When? :o

Yes.

But not in all these tasty culinary ways, not unless carpet chewing is your thing :D:D (We all feel like it sometimes? )

Decided to cut up an old rug to use as insulation in the country place. Tough old brute, tried a puukko, uh uh wrong shape, then I'm ashamed to say some Stanley utility horror...it broke! Scissor just about cut into the thick edge, then got fed up but remembered my car knife a Medium CASE Stockman in ss. That small Sheepfoot cut the thing just right. 2 x 2.5 metre lengths just like that! Some people look down on CASE stainless but this little wonder was superb, didn't break either:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

Even without pictures, just the thought of this, is making me hungry!

Mmm....Coffee and strudel! :) When I was in Austria a few years ago, I practically lived on strudel! I particularly enjoyed eating it up in the beautiful mountains after a good day of walking :)

But today I am on the rabbit food again, it is too hot to cook, and I'm still trying to get that strudel off my waistline! :D
