Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Thanks Thom. I've just christened the classy little Vic Bantam you gave me this afternoon. First time I've had one of these Alox Saks, and I'm surprised how light they are. Great little package :)

Cheers

Very classy looking Duo indeed!!

The 2011 BF knife cut up onions for the white wine-cream-onion sauce and opened the bottle. No, I didn't catch the trout myself...

^^ Tasty looking stuff.

I decided to attack a chicken with my new Normark/Martinii puukko.

Sometimes I like to buy a chicken to practice my butchery, and so I can to exercise the art of frugality ;)

I put the 'choice' bits in ziplocks and popped em in the freezer. The carcass I had other plans for.....

It was slinging it down all yesterday, on my day off, now I'm back at work it's cracking the flags!
The perfect weather for a nice light East Asian broth.

Hope I don't get set upon by the Yorkshire Day police!

My trusty companion opened today's mail, sliced open a new bag of dog food and cut open a new bale of hay out in the shed. :)

Very tasty Thom

I had a sandwich for lunch too ;)

And later...

I haven't had much time to whittle over the last year or so as my daughter is more on the move, whittling tends be dangerous with a 20 month old, but I had a piece of pine and some time while she slept through the rain.

They certainly keep you on your toes at that age Pete. Nice to see your pics :)

No pics but my Texas jack saved the day on garbage dump run #4 today (we're moving next week) when some rope got tangled around my wife's wrist and the tailgate of the truck.

Blimey! Sounds like you and Texas Jack are the heroes of the hour

No food prep (looks very delicious guys!!!) but my faithful Clip "Charlow" helped me cut some para cord and trim some rough spots up my latest walking stick named ""Herman"

Somehow I see "Herman Munster" in the face---the scar comin down the fore head and the face he'd make when he got all excited.

Nice Jack! Based on your pics & testimonials I just purchased an Aitor in beach wood. Pics to post on Monday. I am really impressed with how good it feels in hand. Planning primarily to use it as a food prep.

My Lierenaar just did what it's good at: slicing! It prepped all the vegetables we'll be needing for the BBQ tonight. It might help out with the meat later on too.
Here it is after the clean-up!

If only they made a smaller one with a nicer handle :(

Switched out a light switch and plate today. Changed from a dimmer to a standard switch. Camillus TL-29 did the deed. Special thanks to LKJW (Dan) -I won this knife in a GAW by him.

Hope you like it Peter, it's one of the simplest knives I own, but I struggle not to carry it every day! :)

Simpler times Jack for sure but such fond memories :)

Paul

Indeed my friend :)
