Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Went to a PBR ornament craftin party. Brought my first traditional slippie(as it is a cheap piece of garbage I keep around for sentimental reasons. Won it at the Altamont fair when I was six in a ring toss) to cut up some cans. I am not proud of this, but here it is.

We picked out our Christmas tree tonight. Cutting tiedown twine, surplus fir branches and even trimming a poinsettia to fit the vase. This one did yeoman's work. It's nights like these that make me grateful for family. I hope you all are enjoying the Holidays as much as I.

My Robeson Harness Jack has been opening Xmas cards, cutting wrapping paper, and it shaved some graphite off a pencil! :D Meanwhile my Bullnose has been busy in the kitchen ;)

No pictures, but my Victorinox Fieldmaster got a real workout today and made me very glad I had it on hand. I had to get the screws out of an old furnace, but the space to work was far too small for the dedicated screwdriver I had on hand. But the Fieldmaster slipped in and did the job with ease.

"A bagel!?......really! slicing a bagel? What did I do to deserve this humiliation? I coulda been a contender!"

Yeah, me too. Get over it Bucky.

I love the times when you're really glad you have a knife in your pocket

My small kiridashi is my leather cutting knife and I'll soon be putting it to work....once I've done all the measuring and number crunching for this puukko sheath for my Pa's Christmas gift

Good stuff Scruff

My Boy's Knife cut a shim from some scrap balsa wood to raise the blades on a wee Mop penknife I bought, which had had both blade kicks filed.

I used the Taylor's for the outrageously rough stuff, but I got some serious whittling out of my Boker (if it breaks I'll buy a GEC eureka jack).

Cleaned up the gorilla glue with the Taylor:

Still have to crop and finish both ends of the handle and strip the bark and finish.
