Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

You can get them at collectorknives.net.

As far as clearance - yes, if the bail is flipped up and over the liners, the blade will hit it. I've never had it be an issue though.

What does the bail actually do, and why would one choose a bail over a lanyard?

You can actually attach the knife via the bail to a belt clip freeing up your pocket and eliminating the need for a belt sheath. You can also tie a small piece of line to the bail and use it for leverage or you could tie a lanyard to the bail as a pocket extension for drawing the knife out of a pocket.

With a little practice, it will open bottled beverages too...

I scuffed up my stainless sodbuster jr a bit, by cutting backer rod, whittling down the wooden spoon I was using to push in the backing, and finally splitting a stick and sharpening the halves to stick in the ground and stop the self-leveling sealer from running out into the grass. (I'm still babying the Boker in its pouch.)
Definitely stainless weather here lately. It's so hot I can't stand to wear a wristwatch.

Used my GEC electrician to cut off some old ribbon that was tied to a light pole. I was out helping with a pre-Fourth of July cleanup with my scout troop. Worked just dandy.

My Radio Jack helped me make a crisp (potato chip) sandwich while I sat and enjoyed the view from Knaresborough Castle today. Ah, the finer things in life! :D

View to the front

And behind.

Is that a bag of potato chop sandwich or fish and chips sandwich? Amazing castle and bridge photos!

I remember being a little kid and so proud of myself with dumping a bag of Frito lays on some wonder bread. Best lunch ever!

My newly acquired Camillus congress helped make my pocket tackle box. It cut the popsicle sticks and trimmed away excess hot glue.

I have a couple of these. I reach for one when things are likely to get rough and dirty. I know the springs are supposed to break, but mine never have. (knock on wood.)
I cut some steel wire with it a couple days ago, and started cleaning the eaves-troughs with it.
Today I cut a piece of downspout in two with it so it would fit in the car.

I saw that picture and thought you were going to say you carved the figure with it! (I'm not saying you couldn't have carved it, but I doubt it could be done with one of those peanut-butter-spreader blades) :p

I've heard the backsprings on those break if you open more than one blade at a time. I try to avoid doing that when they share a spring.

You're forgetting the awl and the can opener blades!
Actually, my brother carved that decades ago. I don't remember what he used for knives at the time.

Used the marline-spike on my broken clasp knife to unpick some strangely placed loops on my grappling iron.

You're eating well, Pete!

I used my #15 to slice up a little smoked sharptail grouse for lunch:
