Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Case 6318pu has been working hard, lots of food and other mundane task

N.Y. Strip with herb grilled onions and portobello shrooms, all with a maple balsamic reduction

Fresh tom and mozzarella salad with basil oil and balsamic reduction, along with some hummus and pita chips I made with the help of the 6318pu

But the most important task, using the awl and sheepsfoot to put a smile on my daughters face, after she dropped and broke her solar flower and asked " papa fix?" I can still fix things in a disposable world

Tonight I made with the help of my stockman, mixed grilled lemon pesto vegetables with honey Dijon lemon thyme steak tips

Wow, you should write a cookbook! You come up with some really appetizing looking meals!

Pete, your latest contributions EXCEL even by your usual stellar standards. Can I come and live in your house?! :D ;)

My RJ helped me out with a simple Mediterranean lunch of manzanilla olives, bread, and hummus. And a sneaky Portuguese beer ;)

ok - thanks Jerry :)

My Vic Pioneer got some work right now - opening some local bavarian beverage while hanging out in the forums.

What a coincidence! Used my Wenger Hitchhiker to open an Erdinger -my current fav german brew.

Steak on the grill tonite... The big Stockman handily performed all kitchen and dinner table duties.

Man that looks good Jack (as a footnote, I wish the US would adopt DAB).

Thanks Jerry. I paid over $200 for a DAB radio made by PURE, which I thought was quite a lot for a mono radio. It's been nothing, but trouble. When it stopped working completely after 2 years, the company told me that it "was not economically viable" to repair it, and offered to sell me another! A friend repaired it for me, but after less than 5 years it's ready for the bin. My previous radio cost me about $15, and I had it for 15 years before passing it on to a friend. If the US do adopt DAB, I'd definitely avoid these PURE models, they look good, but they're junk in my experience.

I REALLY need to stop looking at this thread right before bed time!
Bob

Very true! :D

Jack, our FCC has approved DAB but it looks as though it is not gaining acceptance. I think internet radio will be the future. Although I much prefer the rich sound of a tube (valve in UK terms) radio. Perhaps someone with a Radio Jack will post a photo alongside a vintage radio :)

My wife and I had just a wonderful meal, typical traditional bavarian / austrian food.

The Queen DB Barlow helped to cut the potatoes and onions for the Erdäpfelkäse we were eating for the meal. Follow the link and you´ll see what I mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kartoffelkäse

We had black smoked pork and some austrian cheese as well as bavarian beer.... man what a feast :D

I love that - honestly!

Yes, I'm a little surprised we haven't had more traditional radio pics.

A feast indeed Andi

Even I don't have anything with vacuum tubes.
But here are a few knives that have had their share of workouts and may be older than radio.
