Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Youngest started back at school today. Pouring with rain all day. This afternoon I walked up through the forest to meet him and walk home.it had started to clear up a bit and by the time I got there it was blue sky and super humid.
I used r8shells haresfoot peanut to cut away a moth vine which during the holidays had grown up a small Persian Witchhazel tree I planted at school. The moth vine is fast growing and was well on its way to strangling my little tree. Not any more it's not.

Hey Meako! It makes me happy to know that 'nut is out in the world, doing good deeds. :D

This Gerlach, Poland got some duty today. Peeling a piece of gingerroot and cut it into thin slices for making a tea against a flu I got since yesterday...

I used my Opinel #7 to cut up some apple, grapes, carrots, and green & red peppers for my oatmeal this morning.

Here's the oatmeal just begging to be eaten! (The oatmeal also contains peas, peanuts, dark chocolate M&Ms, flax seed, and sunflower seeds, but none of those ingredients needed slicing or dicing.)

I make this "enriched" oatmeal almost every morning, but sometimes the knife changes. I used a Rough Rider trapper April through July, then switched to an Opinel #6 in August, and have used the Opinel #7 since it arrived in mid-December. Considering that I was out of the country Dec. 24 through Jan. 12, that "new" Opi #7 has developed quite a patina already from its kitchen duties! Here's a photo of it when it first arrived; compare that to how it looked this morning.

The electrician assisted in trimming several lengths of new rubber hose as part of the car resto.

We do some weird stuff to food in the South, but I don't think I've heard of peppers in oatmeal :)

Since "they" claim breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I try to build an entire food pyramid into my bowl of oatmeal! :p

I'll be carrying it again today to finish the job. It's a nice bright day, but only minus 10 F.

(This is the knife I found in a very unlikely place and time the end of last winter.)

That knife has great mojo, screened porch! :D:thumbup::thumbup:
Bitterly cold here too, but the sun is sliding the snow off the roof on the south side of my house.
I think I vaguely remember the story of your finding that knife on your sidewalk last spring! :p

Thanks.
Yes, something like, if it had been there as long as it looked, why hadn't it been shoveled into the lawn, and if it hadn't been there as long as it looked, where had it dropped in from while I'd been shovelling next to it. And it's a knife my dad would have appreciated, so- mojo is a good word for it.

Those spoons, and knives, and photos, are fantastic, rinos!!:thumbup::thumbup:
