Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Not today, but at the end of last week the Buck 118 helped clean and process my first wild turkey! This is the D2 version and man does that blade hold its edge well.

Nice Tom!

I used my Behring Trout & Bird to prep a nice slab of salmon for the smoker today:

and the little L.T. Wright for harvesting some chives from the garden:

Thanks all! That was the first big game animal I processed with the 118 and the d2 blade did a fantastic job field dressing and processing the meat. A breast magically got wrapped in bacon and tasted oh so good.

I'm doing a little more cleanup work with the knife on the tail, beard, and feet to have something to put on the wall. Pictures to come when it all dries and I remember

Great looking bird and even betting looking dinner!! Just a bacon wrapped masterpiece. My compliment to the chef!

My KABAR trimmed up some axis tonight for the grill. It's got a heck of an edge on it, it's a really pleasure to use:)

The irony being, of all my knives I'd intended to maintain this one's "pocket jewelry" status unsullied.

Wouldn't you know, I carried it on a day I didn't anticipate needing a screwdriver (read: Radio Knife or Crown Lifter) or encountering anything more challenging than, say, "tape," and ran smack into an apple I could not resist.

Used the Moose to help build a quick makeshift table for a cookout later this weekend, some stakes for targets on the range, lemonade for me and my daughter and some lemon basil chicken
