This whole thing isn't making sense still.
For the blade to patina like that, flitz might take off the patina but it's going to happen again. Flitz isn't going to remove bits of steel "embedded" (still don't think I believe that to this degree either) in the blade.
Either the wrong temper was used or the wrong steel was used.
Isn't this at least the second post like this regarding magnacut from bark river?.....and the response from DLT says this is a known thing with them. And there are credible reports of Bark River (intentionally??) mis-labeling steel. And this isn't a thing with magnacut from other makers?
