There was a time that I thought I would purchase many Bark Rivers, as I was a Virtuovice fan, and he seemed to have good luck with them and sung high praises.

How true that is!Quality control is now the consumer.
I think it’s more a matter of principle than it is being an unusable tool. The OP paid a premium for mangnacut, he should have received the product he paid for, not an excuse that doesn’t hold water.I say use it like you stole it
Patina isn’t going to hurt the blade steel but actually help prevent pitting . Unless it’s not holding an edge which I highly doubt then there is an issue with heat treatment .
Ah yes, the patina on the steel that's supposed to be incredibly rust resistant will prevent pitting from rust. That's certainly a take.I say use it like you stole it

Yes.I think your knife was sprinkle with magnacut, it is 440c but who cares it is sharp....smfh is liked you order stake and you get burnt chicken, oh no big deal just eat it.
My experience with magnacut from many offerings is it will stain. Evidently your mileage may differ as others . Knives are tools not jewelry regardless how you slice itI think it’s more a matter of principle than it is being an unusable tool. Flitz would definitely do the trick on many blade steels. I highly recommend itSeems like DLT needs to let BRK know they skipped a step and need to flitz their magnacut after they're done with it, imstead of their customer.
Curious if the flirz actually helps, that would look bad on both companies. Still looks bad on BRK if it does work.
is your experience with magnacut only with bark rivers " magnacut"?My experience with magnacut from many offerings is it will stain. Evidently your mileage may differ as others . Knives are tools not jewelry regardless how you slice itproper care with a wipe down and oil you won’t have that issue 9 out of 10 times .If you want jewelry maybe you should go to Kay’s jewelry or a like
