Do you EDC a Mega Folder?

So does yours! :D
Well that's a big pond in the background, and it was really cold out that day...

yeah, lil puny :D Pics are not mine, they are from Picksmith and grindermcgee, posted on the CS forums.

I was gonna pass on posting the XL Espada, but screw it. Here's one that isn't on CS forum.

That's what I told her! :D:D

Darn those large Espadas are way bigger than I thought. The pic with the Busse for scale really makes me wish I'd have bought one. What happened to your hand dude? Probably the same thing that happened to my shin! Rajah 1 fell off table, bounced & cut shin to the bone!

Man I wish I wasn't 5000 miles from my XL Espada right now. When I get back I will try to snap some pics against an 18" machete, Martindale Golok, HI Tin Chirra... and a Case peanut :D

Largest I EDC are my BM Onslaught 741, Kershaw G10 Offset, Kershaw Tyrade and Spyderco Military. Are those "mega"?

I think the lower limit was arbitrarily set at 5". So sorry, your puny little keyring folders don't count! :D :p

^There was a limit set? I'm gonna go read the OP...

The Rajah is up to any utility task you can throw at a large folder. Very capable all around, but waving it open to split tape is pretty ludicrous. The II is almost 14oz. The Rajah I is about an ounce lighter, but that's still pretty hefty for most folks. In comparison the X2 voyager weighs 6.5oz. You can clip it IWB and forget it's there.

You should read the thread first.

How many of you actually EDC a big folder (5"+)? Weight: 12.7 oz Weight: 12.9 oz

RAJAH I
Blade: 6"
Overall: 14"
Weight: 13.4 oz.

RAJAH II
Specifications:
Blade: 6"
Overall: 14"
Weight: 13 oz. ;)

If I reed too many wurds I forget how to tie my shoes :p I know CS' spec sheet. I've had them both on the postal scale too. For mine, the RII is heavier by over and ounce. It's thicker too. I didn't think 1oz would be a big deal to anyone considering a folder that's close to a pound.

I don't know why you added this...

I had forgotten about this thread. But since I like others used a relatively common knife, a "millie" (a term that is a pet peeve all by itself) as a general size reference I am now excited that apparently I am now a "millie" pusher!!! Sweet!!! I've never been lumped into a class of pet peeves before. :D

Those of you that carry MEGA Folders, where and how do you usually carry them? Which pocket? On your belt?

I usually wear jeans that are no where near tight but I still get "jammed" by my "millie" frequently when sitting. There I go "pushing" "millies" again.

If you watch any of my videos, you'll see that I have a uniform of sorts as far as clothing goes. I wear Costco or Dickies blue jeans 95% of my current life. I comfortably carry a heavily modded Cuda stiletto Maxx some days and don't even notice it.

It is VERY important to make sure your primary/huge/offensive/defensive knife is carried in a pocket with NOTHING else in it.

A "short" millie pusher. :D

Where are you guys living that blades over 5" are legal to carry? I guess I didn't realize there were so many places that did not have this limit.

I stay under 5", for legal reasons. I wouldn't mind carrying a bigger knife, but it would take some getting used to for sure. My Buck 486 BuckLite folder is just under 5" closed and I carry it in my back pocket off to the side. Any taller closed and it'd stick up out of my pocket. No bueno IMHO.

In TX, you can have up to a 5.5" blade length. I'm in CA... no blade length limit. About the only good thing from CA penal code...

LOL... I said penal:D

Fresno, CA has no further restrictions than CA state.

BTW, I have never posted bail. Why waste $$$$$ that could be used on a great criminal defense lawyer. The lawyer that did my DUI for $1750 was a former employee of my mother in law back when he was a CPA.

Rock on then Charlie (my name too - our Daddies had good taste!) :D

Charles is my middle name. Charles is my step-grandfather's name and he is a CIB pinned WW2 vet. Mike is my younger brother's name. I paid Spark to change my username over a year ago from solidsoldier. Charlie Mike means continue mission. That is how I try to live. My youtube is www.youtube.com/FTWCM and I'm pretty sure you know what FTW stands for... and it ain't For The Win.

My small (under the table) knife works is called FTW... Freeman's (my last name) Tactical Weapons.

Thanks for the intel CM. BTW, I've told you before I'm one of your YT subscribers and although I'm twice your age, I dig your videos. You're a natural character....like Paul Newman told Tom Cruise in "Color of Money" :)
