Do you sleep with your knife?

I each keep a Ka-bar fighting knife in my nightstand.... I don't need it there to actuall sleep, but it is my (I heard something and am going to walk around the house naked with my Ka-bar... knife). If a naked fat guy with a Ka-bar and a Rottweiler by his side doesn't scare someone, then I'm not sure what will.

haha!!! i keep a usmc kabar in nightstand also. Yes, that would scare the crap out of someone:)

First off......your LT's opinion counts for little. Nothing against him, or other LT's..........but they still smell like CIF. Back with the old sleeping bag (mummy bag), there was an issue with the zippers getting stuck. When this happens, the only way to unstick it (other than calling for help)was to use a knife or leatherman to pry the cloth out of the zipper to get out. This usually only happened when your bag was fully zipped, leaving only a small hole fitting your face or 1 arm. Lesson learned after it happened once...keep a small pocket knife or leatherman inside yoru bag, or close enough to grab when reaching out your face hole.

Ka-bar USMC sheath unlocked sticking out my mattress. I got it angled to where I can pull it out without being fully awake

if i wear pajama bottoms or basketball shorts to bed i will have a recon 1 and a surefire backup in my pockets...... the blade has never opend in my pocket or come unclipd from my pants pocket

Hmmm, let's see. Got a dog downstairs, alarm system, Cold Steel GI tanto under my pillow, Surefire G2L on headboard (got a shelf there), Ka-Bar F/U on the nightstand, and i am never more than 2 steps from a knife in any direction in any room in the house.
Trained in knife defense too.
Moral of story- Don't intrude in the affairs of Thatotherguy, for he will feed you to the pet dragon who thinks you are crunchy and good with ketchup. :D

Browning HP 9mm,and a Buck Night hawk in the night stand draw 3 c-cell LED MAG Light with in reach of the bed.

Don't sleep with a knife, but my Cold Steel Battle Mace is within easy reach of the bed. If I have to deal with a "strange noise" that gets past the dog, I want more metal, and more standoff distance, than a knife.

After seeing everyone posts i decided i would try spelling with a knife. at first i left a LMF in the sheath within arms reach on my bed. That was kinda silly to me. When i sleep i lie face down with no pillow and don't roll over or move until its time for work. So being i don't move while sleeping i slapped a folder on my thigh area of my waistband. and i made sure to tighten the pivot screw until i needed 2 hands to open it. i don't want to get stabbed in my sleep by myself now haha. last night was the 1st night in about a week i didn't sleep with the folder and when i woke i did feel like i was missing something. So i tried it, i didn't mind it. but i won't continue to do so ha.

experiment = conquered

Para2 in my pj pocket,k-bar next to the bed, closet full of swords and sig 1911 with led Maglite on nightstand.

My Khuk and SureFire live on my bed post.I knew I was in love when my girl friend saw them and we had a hour discussion on what a shitty crime ridden city we live in and how she thought it was a great idea lol baseball bat in my livih room, home made of course, tomahawk on the hallway shelf, handful of folders sprinkled throughout.Crossbow soon to be added to the collection.

When I come home I do a pocket dump on my nightstand. Before going to bed I make sure that my flashlight and that day's carried knife are next to my glasses before lights out.

I'm surprised by how many of you keep Ka-Bars nearby while sleeping. There's nothing wrong with that choice, of course, I just wouldn't have expected as many people choosing them.
For my part, I keep whatever knife I was EDC-ing that day unfolded on the nightstand. But it's only a last resort in case something goes wrong with Mr. 20-gauge or Madam 1911.

Emerson, Surefire, and PM9 always close by. How close depends on where and what I'm sleeping in.
