Does any one out there have any simmons hardware or keen kutter knives?

Nice knives, Kevin! I am especially partial to the peanut, lovely bone and a beautiful sabre clip main with a great swedge!
Very nice to see a few more Keen Kutters popping up in this thread.

Nice knife, Nick! Sellens says it was in the catalogs from 1939 to 1942. Yours would have been made prior to July 1940 (when Shapleigh bought Simmons Hardware and the EC Simmons in the tang stamp was discontinued). The ears on the wedge and the K in the stamped pattern numbers are both indications that it was manufactured by Camillus.
Thank you sir! I knew I’d get answers here from you guys. It’s like Siri for knives!:)

Yes, these threads seem to get shuffled faster than a Vegas dealer's deck. :)

At first glance, this shadow style jigged bone Simmons single blade folder appears a bit underwhelming, but it has a secret...
This is a scale release spring fired (switchblade) knife that was patented by "W. Weltersbach" in Solingen, Germany on Nov. 10th 1900.
The handles actually pivot slightly with finger pressure which raises the back spring to fire the blade from a kick spring inside.
While this model is not listed in Sellens Book, Keen Kutter did sell a wide selection of other switchblade knives that were contracted through Schrade.
Keen Kutter sold other German made knives early on, and this model with a "SIMMONS HDWE CO." tang stamp probably dates to circa 1900 to 1914.

I also have a Simmons with the "Simmons HDWE Co" stamp. Over Germany . Marked on all 4 blades with the hornet on the reverse of all 4 blades. I find little to no info and wonder if that would put me in the same 1900-1914 date range? The knife is definitely old and has seen better days, but the mother of pearl is mostly intact and the heavily sharpened blades still have great snap. Just trying to get some info before I post it in my store! Very informative thread!

tongueriver tongueriver Is that postcard for sale... trade? Don't know if that's allowed, if not I will absolutely remove. I try to stick to the rules, i just dont always know in this exact situation... though im sure i read it when i signed up lol.I am an avid post card collector and this would be a perfect crossover piece for my collection. Very cool either way! Thanks for showing!

It is just a computer image copied off the internet. No physical presence owned by me. You could download it and print it off on card stock.

In a recent exchange, Charlie (waynorth) sent this lovely Keen Kutter pen knife as an extra. Thank you very much Charlie. It is a K02529 is 2 3/4" with remaining blade etch and an etched pattern number. Sellens says this pattern was in the catalogs from 1905 through to 1938.

I had that knife for a while, and always wondered how they did it!! Very small and fine - exquisite really!! It belongs with you, Dan!!

Nice Barlow, Wayne!!

Generous of Mike and lucky for Dan!!
We are all fortunate to know both of you!!!

I went back through this entire thread a few weeks ago. I realized I had a few Keen Kutters that I have never posted anywhere on Blade Forums. Some of these are well used and a little rough, some have been cleaned. Anyway, here they are.

Fantastic and wonderfully disparate array! What a treat! The (K1773 3/4) - is it a barlow pattern?
