Does anyone EDC a "collectable" Spyderco?

It seems that many of the best models are now gone and the prices have gone up to the point that they are worth more as collectables than as carry knives. Does anyone carry a collectable Spyderco even though it is worth 3-4 times what they orginally sold for? Is it stupid to carry and use a knife that could be sold and a newer one bought with money left over?

I carry and use all of my knives or I trade/sell them. I am the same way with guns. If I don't shoot it, I get rid of it. I only want what I can use. I carry a Centofante II SE and a G-10 Police SE. I would carry the PE versions if I could find them. They are collectable knives but I prefer them over most of the newer stuff with a few exceptions.

I frequently carry a g10 standard, I don't know how collectible that is though... I have carried, shabarias, terzoulas, g10 and cf police... didn't put them away cuz of there rarity but only cuz I found stuff I liked better

I edc a Tim Wegner Jr., Its got the partial serration on the blade. But I have to admit, if I didnt have the same model in a PE it probably would be sitting in the drawer with my other collectables. I liked this knife so much I searched till I found a PE just to keep and have the SE as a user.

I EDC a Spyker even though its not worth 3 or 4 times what i spent on it, in time it could be worth a little more. But whats the point of having it sit in a case, it is just begging to cut something.:D

Current EDC rotation includes:

Carbon fiber PE Police
Titanium PE Lum tanto

I carry a UK Design Team Penknife everyday... seen so much use I have G10 marks on my jeans and denim marks on my Penkife! :)

My EDC is a blue G-10 BladeForums Native PE. I guess that would qualify as "collectable"

None of my thirteen or so Spydercos are considered collectable, I rotate all of them into carry with the exception of one...a Wayne Goddard PE, FRN that I never got crazy about, so it remains new in box.

Not at all. Spyderco designs working tools. Just because a knife has become a collectible doesn't make it any less efficient. Plus, what are you going to do, put it in a drawer and take it out to fondle once in a while. No thank you. I'll carry the knife I want because I can't take it with me.

I only own three Spydercos, a Millie, an Endura, and a Civilian. Truth be told, I only really use the Military. Do you want to know what my favorite knife is? It's the Military even though it is scratched up from being used and even dropped. The Civilian has never been used and I hope to never have to use it. I hardly ever take it out of its pouch and I've probably handled it only a half-dozen times after I received it. I've thought about getting rid of it because not using is the same as not having it, at least in my eyes.

:p I often carry my zdp caly jr, s3ov, Lil' T, cf harpy dodos and spyderhawk (JDSpydohawk). These knives are just too good to not use. :p

I often carry my CF Military and occasionally carry my Shabaria.

I carry a CRMIPT semi regularly. Not sure if that counts as 'collectible'.

I don't EDC it but I carry my numbered Shabaria from time to time.

I don't know how collectible it is, but one of my main EDC's is a Vesuvius with the blue shell inlay.I also have a blue VG-10 Delica that doesn't get babied. I will also sometimes carry my R or one of my Q's if I don't think I'll need it for something serious. (These get babied.)
