Does anyone EDC a "collectable" Spyderco?

I don't know if the Ocelot is currently a "collectible", but it will be my EDC when I receive it on Tuesday.

i rally like that ocelot... it looks like a great EDC blade..... i was wondering about the wegner and it collector's value.... i just recently scored one of the spyderco models...... mtnfolk mike

PE Ti ATR is my regular carry blade. Probably not yet a collectible, but certainly somewhat rare.

C15 Bob T aluminium - still my favourite spydie. I kept it as a safe queen for while when I learned it was a colectable - now it's in the normal rotation again.

My CF Military is probably "collectible" and it was in my pocket or being used all day yesterday and the day before building a new workbench. It is in my pocket today at the office.

Admittedly it is not carried every single day, but it gets carried a lot and I have no reservations about using it.

I have several "collectible" knives but none that do not have a purpose and get used.

Wow!! Dave you got really good tastes dude :D . I have both of those knives and I wouldn't dream of carrying either one of those. The way that Ti C-46 Lum Tanto folder is going up I wouldn't dream of it. I do carry a couple collectibles that someone might tell me the same thing. I carry a C-44 big Dyad and a plain edged ATS-55 Merlin. The big Dyad is going up in value but it is the best EDC Spyderco ever made>> on top of the fact that I now have 4 back up units for it ;) . Dave you are a ROLEX watch man for sure when it comes to EDCs. Hey PM me when you get time I got something I want to ask you. JD

I quess so. I obtained a C15 Terzuola about a month ago and have carried it almost everyday since. Today I have a pe Centofante C25 in pocket and every once in a while I carry a vg10 pe Zowada. I would hate to loose any of my discontinued/collectable Spyderco knives, but if I want to carry and use it, I do. The exceptions are the larger ones and my pe green Lum Chinese.

I give you a high five on that VG-10 Zowada. It took me over a year to finally find one of them. I would love to carry mine but until I get a back up unit I won't. Not many people recognize that VG-10 Zowada but I can attest that it is easily one of the 5 hardest to find Spydercos I have ever looked for. I carry a big C-44 Dyad, Plain edged Merlin and sometimes I even add one of my ZDP-189 Calypso Juniors to equip myself. Great thread kgriggs ;)

Well, as soon as I got my peel ply CF Millie, it went into my EDC. Some knives are just too nice not to carry.

Wow?!!! and they only made 400 of those from what I was told. That's EDC dedication ;) But what the heck>> if you like it then dog-gone it you like it. We only get to go around once in life like the old beer commercial used to say. One Spyder I would really love to carry but I have way to much respect for it is my plain edged Shabaria. Deacon carrying a C-27 is about as super dedicated as it gets.

Oh yes, all the time. Not quite EDC, since I'm faithful to my good old trusty Adventura, but I do carry a CF Millie or Delica now and then. Also, my wife regularily clips a Shabaria, blue Lum Chinese or Paua shell inlay Vesuvius - if you can call those "collectibles" ;)

tiger coral kopa. but thats only becuase i just got it. i am sure in a few months ill b on to something cheaper (chive).

I have given this question more though since I first responded. I EDC a tan Endura. They are hard to find and I know I wouldn't be able to replace it, but I use it with no second thoughts.

I carry this one and love it.

I use this knife for two reasons. One; because I will never sell it (so I don't care if it remains mint) and two; it is one of the greatest knives ever made.

Have carried and used

Tan Endura (a tan Endura 4 would be great)<--little hint

Blue Almite Walker

Cally ZDP

Spyderfly with VG10 blade

If I ever find an S30V Chinook I, that would be carried and used, too.

The absolute best ones shouldn't sit in a drawer.

JD, I hear you on the Ti Lum. I've wanted to carry mine for years now, but just can't bring myself to do it. Don't know why, since it's not like I would ever sell it. It was the first Spyderco that I knew I just had to have and I got lucky and got a numbered PE.

I recently picked up a CF Delica and it's been getting good pocket time. Some mornings I'm debating what to carry and if I hem and haw too long I pick the Delica. Nice to carry because it's so light in the pocket. It's also a good conversation piece if I come across anyone who likes knives during the course of my day (rare, but it does happen now and then), and even non-knife people seem to like the look of the CF.

You know something guys/gals when you think about it there are very few Spyderco knives at this point in time that you couldn't find an extra of if you just look long and hard. For instance when I fell in love with the big Dyad about 3 years ago I wouldn't have used that knife then with a gun to my head. But then I finally got on Ebay and immediately found a couple extras so I was in a position where I could finally carry one.

I will admit that it still took another year or so before I finally broke down and carried one full time. I am still carrying my C-44 big Dyad and probably will be for some time. You can still find them occasionally on Ebay if you look hard enough.

I guess what I am saying is that if there is ONE particular Spyderco model you like as much as your next breath of air then go ahead and use it. Now I'm not saying to use all of your collector grade knives but use the one that flips your switch the best. Just think about it for a minute. What better way to convert someone to Spyderco ( or any top notch brand as far as that goes) than to get out the good stuff and use it ;)>>> Super thread kgriggs

I'll be receiving a Chinook I from UPS today, and I plan on carrying and using it--if I love it, I might look for a back up. If not, I probably won't end up carrying it for very long, and it'll end up on the trade forums.

As far as still finding good deals on ebay, I just won a nib Emerson CQC7 (plain, no wave) for $95 shipped--the deals are there, it's all about timing.
