Does anyone share my appreciation for Strider Knives, or just Frame Locks?

The rules in this forum don't allow me to tell you what I think of Strider and what a piece of work he is.:thumbdn:

Then, I think you broke the rules...

This is a BLADE forum, not a PERSONALITY forum. And yes, W&C has your name on it.

Oh yes, I LIKE STRIDER knives a lot...and their Customer Service beats ANYONE else, in my opinion. (I've used it, and others.)

The OP started right off with "Mick Strider." That and the post count (3) tell me it's just another troll looking to stir up Strider haters. This old Strider hater ain't going for the bait.

I love the simplicity of frame locks, and they look good too! My favorite knife is a frame lock, the small sebenza

Just a year a go you couldn't give me a Strider and today it never leaves my pocket. Like Jill, I find my current SnG CC just about perfect in every aspect and light as heck. It's also one of the only knives I don't mind seeing a scratch on. I don't think I am the only person like this.

I'd gladly buy a strider that has less choil and more edge. Also, a flipper.

I will play devil's advocate. I have a few Striders and they are fine knives, but in my experience they have a tendency to develop bladeplay because the blade tang is harder than the titanium lock face. I prefer frame locks that have been carbidized to reduce wear (Hinderer) or frame locks with steel inserts. And prefer a compression lock or triad over frame locks. Still love frame locks though and you can't really go wrong with Stider since if you ever do have issues they will fix it completely.

Strider now carbidizes their locks, I believe

There's a reason he isn't here, a reason why the HEST dude isn't either.

Business practices matter to me, there's a reason why I don't buy his blades.

I didn't break the rules.

One of my friends has a 10 year old tanto recurve Strider with the worst blade play I've ever experienced. That said, I have heard the new lock geometry it tighter and better and I'm not sure how much he may have abused it. I'm interested in Striders and plan on getting one eventually but others knives are higher priority right now.

No, mostly due to the attitude and conduct of Mick Strider and the continued lies and embellishment of their backgrounds both by himself and his business partner even after being court ordered to with draw all claims of being secret squirrels and offer a public recant.

I could maybe overlook that if they provided an excellent value but they do not in production or custom form. While the quality seems good and the warranty is undeniably good (if they get around to honoring it...) both the folders but especially the fixed blades they would need a several hundred dollar price drop before they would be within my "acceptable bang for the Buck" ratio.

Excellent quality knives of comparable or greater value and of the same materials and skill can be hand at less then half the price and the mystique of being made "for operators by operators" was built on a foundation of lies (if that's even your thing, it isn't mine). I see absolutely no reason to give Mick Strider and company a single dollar of mine, maybe one day that could change but I remain dubious.

A SNG Lego or SMF CC in my pocket, I have good tools with me.

I love Frame locks, yes 2013, frame locks dominated my buys.

I bought from an American Company, the Company doesn't lobby to remove individual freedoms, and none of us are perfect. I'll buy Strider again, and I've never sold a Strider! I've never meet Mick, but I'd shake his hand and thanks him for the Knifes I have of his. Marketing mis-steps, yes we live and learn.

Someone doesn't want a Strider, I'm OK with that, Choice is good for all of us, and Competition has led us to MANY great Knifes to be made :)

I love other Brands too!!

Boobins, NICE
I'm always on the look out for that blade finish, tks for the pic.

I call Bull-crap! If it's cheap enough I can overlook what I'm bitching about. Either stick to your guns or bow out. Your hypocrisy is "cheap".
I like the knives. The man I don't know and if I were to scrutinize every owner/CEO/etc.. I'd likely be naked and hungry!

Here is a video I did when I first got my CC PT, it has broken in very nicely... so much in fact I ordered a CC SnG which turned out to be an incredible blade. The SJ45 is next on the list...

I like my SnG and SmF.
I might not like the person who makes/designs them, but I don't buy people. :)
