This is Lou. We got him from the local Humane Society shelter. He was not abused but he was ignored, left outside and over fed. He was terribly overweight when we got him. We are slimming him down. So far he has lost 17 pounds!

This is Abby. We also got her from the local Humane Society shelter. Someone was very cruel to her and she has a lot of fear. She has come so far since we got her, but she is still very weary of strangers. Inside the house she is a very funny little love bug, but outside she is always hyper vigilant. She had a very bad case of entropion when we got her. The doctor over corrected so she now has a mild case of ectropion.

Thank you for adopting from a shelter.
They are beautiful family members

Gandalf sitting next to me on the bench by the kitchen table after supper today, his 14th birthday!:cool:
I take him for a 3-mile walk at least 4 days per week; today we celebrated by going at least 3.5 miles. We're just a couple of walking geezers hoping to stay in shape and stay out of trouble. 🤓

Happy birthday Gandalf! 🎉
I've got to ask, does that (totally adorable little) dog ever stand up to big dogs on the sidwalk and bark "Thou shall not pass!" in dog language?
Zach, Gandalf (and I) thank you for the birthday greetings!:thumbsup:

Erik, Gandalf seems not to notice size of other dogs! He often starts acting aggressively toward other dogs (especially if they're on the other side of the street), and I try to point out that many of them could easily maim him (or worse) with one playful swipe of a paw. But he tells me, "I've survived a long time by telling other mutts who's the boss!" He's quite nice to most human strangers, but he's not very social at all with most other dogs.

Sounds like a great little doggie!

Sorry, I'm a big ugly software and MMA guy but I adore dogs and kids (and not just for eating!)
