Done with Strider

I owned an SnG for a short time. It was ok, but overpriced IMO. I sold it shortly before I got divorced. Then I found out about the Mick Strider issues, and have never had one since. I did like the ergonomics. For the money they command, I have found MANY brands I like better, without the stigma.

Ok, I see the trinity theme of overbuilt folders with thick edges and external stops.

But when I hear “Strider” and “trinity” my mind goes to Strider, Bark River, and…I dunno, pick your number 3.
Hoback?

I don't like thumbstuds, so Spartan, CRK, Les George don't make the cut.

I wanna try an Olamic though.

We gotta finish the unholy trinity!

I’m thinking Ganzo…?

1) Strider
2) Bark River
3) Ganzo
Hoback was my suggestion above. If we are going folders, the unholy trinity should be:

Strider
Hoback
Qtrmastr

And a dishonorable mention for Brous.

When your ready to pass that inkosi along... cough...cough... let me know lol drop point that is!
I don’t have a DP Inkosi yet. I do have a Sebenza 25 in DP but they will have to pry that from my cold dead hands!

Crap I see what I did. That 25 should have been my 31. It’s in MagnaCut. Guess I’ll need to retake that photo.

Hahaha, hell yeah!! It’s finally official, let it be known!!!
For me the trinity has always been Hinderer, CRK, and Curtiss, have owned several Striders and Medfords over the years but they never stick around, and I think I'm more likely than not done with those. Definitely plan to pick up a Les George at some point though!

I had one Strider, it was fine quality and seemed like it would be a good cutting tool.

I got it to see what all of the hubbub was about.
It is ok, but most if not all of the ZTS and Spydercos I own were more appealing to me, so off it went to a new home.

To be fair, I felt the same way about the CRK I bought. DSC_7256.jpeg
Nice knife, but I sold it off after checking it out for a while.
I still have the Kershaw-made AG Russell.

Mr. Reeve is an interesting fellow to drink with I can say.

Strider never appealed to me , even without knowing the sordid details of behavior .

The designs seem exaggerated , like some sort of steam punk anime tactical . Not too ergonomic / functional and overpriced .

Back in the day , for performance / price ratio , the Trinity for me was : Spyderco , Cold Steel and KAI .

By now , I've become more agnostic . 😇
