Again I’m not a 100% but I’ve heard that olamic outsources all of it parts from Russia and more or less just assembles their knives. If anyone knows otherwise please clarify, that’s just what I’ve heard and we all know how that goes.

Regardless I really like some of their knives and are very well made. Eugene is also a very nice guy, his older buddy though is pretty rough around the edges.

Firstly, agreed, Eugene is an excellent human being, but uhhhh...his "older buddy" is his Dad. LOL He's a great guy also once you get some time chatting with him.

I may think a lot of his designs are crappy, overpriced and that whole shirt fiasco last year was in really poor taste, but at least Medford never lied about his service to my knowledge.
I don’t know much about Medford himself, I just don’t like his knives.

Haha, didn’t know that was his dad. He was just very abrupt and not very friendly. Seemed grumpy.

Is it true they out source the parts and assemble here? I’m not opposed to that just wondering if it’s true. I do think that would be different as far as considering him a knife maker like those in the “new trinity” 😉

I'm probably going to get slapped for this by the fan boys, but Microtech could be considered for the unholy...Past QC/Warranty/Communication issues, copying designs, now outsourcing to China (at least they are honest about it).

Do I recall there was some real ugliness between Marfione and Lynn Thompson a few yrs back. Turned into law suits and all kinds of ugly if memory serves.

Microtech and Kershaw/ZT had a spat over a couple of similarly designed and named knives. Don’t recall anything with LT/Cold Steel but it’s possible.

I recently got to meet and talk with Les at a small knife show where he brought some of his models. Extremely nice guy and cool to talk to about knives. I begged him to make any of his models with something that had some grip vs slippery titanium(it’s humid in the south). The action, fit and finish on his knives are top of the line from what I experienced. I’d probably own all his models if he released models with scales that had any kind of texture/grip.

+1, only reason I haven’t bought one yet

Interesting, I like the look of them but was primarily buying one to complete the trinity. I’ve heard of some of their qc issues and it was a concern.

The not wearing well in the pocket is a big deal to me cause I really don’t keep anything that’s gonna just sit.

Gonna have to strongly reconsider, after all I already have the real third member of the trinity 😉
I know which third member you speak of! It was you after all that got me interested in Les George blades. I'm happy we had the conversation and you told me how awesome they were! Then you gave me the inside scoop on how to obtain a couple of his newest masterpieces! Thanks again my friend 😄

I've yet to meet him but have spoken to him many times on Facebook. I was blown away that him and Bill Harsey both accepted my friend request. Both really cool down to Earth folks. Highly recommend both of their folders.

No problem at all bud, it was fun watching you fall down the Les hole! 😂

I completely agree, I actually prefer g10 as well. I’d also love if he did some different blade shapes on the vecp.

However, if yall ever come across a good deal on one make the leap. You won’t regret it!
