Dual Survival

And if anyone is wondering, Joe's new knife is a Griffin Tactical. I like it more than the Tops Surv Tac 7.

LOL Codger_64 that was a good one. Live your fantasy. I love it lol lol .

PS. Mike, I still have that DeWeese pattern you sent to me. I was looking at it the other day even.

Would you believe that it is one of my most used knives? I love it. And the wood has taken on deep dark hues.

Noooooooo! I've been working for more than fifty years to change my DNA! Let me live my fantasy!
Can't get Lorde out of you're head? Or is it the clown & two goths?

More seriously, what is the Deweese knife?

Edit: is this it?

Whether you're following a script or not anyone who can read people or see between the lines can tell motives, character, etc. because these people are not actors. They are not playing characters, they are playing themselves. Certain things they need to excenuate about who they are for the show of course. But when I watch an episode of that show I do three things 1) sit back and be entertained, that's what I'm there for. 2) try and learn something 3) admire the skills and experience of the professional.

Now as for #2 since Dave left there has been an exaggeration on #1 and less on #2. A lot more of the drama and "dual" aspect has been involved, because honestly Cody and Dave had two different skill sets and they both respected eachother, you never saw them argue after half way through the first episode. People can say whatever they want about Cody not wearing shoes but the dudes been doing for over 20 years with no problems so whatever. Joe just offers nothing to the audience except a loud mouth and drama. Also you can probably learn some military vernacular from him if that's what you're into because everything he talks about he uses it.

The one good thing about Cody leaving and this new guy is that maybe Cody has taught everything he knows through three and a half seasons. Maybe this new guy has a lot of stuff to teach. In my life do I ever think I'll be in a survival situation? No. But as someone who is an avid outdoorsman this is stuff I like to know and I enjoy learning just as I enjoy history. They are skills and hobbies I can practice just like some people collect stamps. Do I take it real serious? No. But do I respect the leaders of a topic and hobby I enjoy? Of course. Guys like Ray, Les, Mors, Dave, Cody, etc. are all TV/YouTube/Book famous, but they know their stuff and they enjoy teaching this stuff to people and sparking interest. For all the people who brag about not having a tv or not having cable; It's the easiest way to reach people and communicate information and increase interest. Unfortunately channels like Discovery are now going the same route as MTV with drama over information and education.

That is awesome to hear, Mike.
Take care and see ya on the forum.

I am still getting a chuckle out of the living the fantasy lol.

Great pic you posted of the DeWeese design, mtangent.

I quit watching the show when I heard Joe say in that episode where drinking his pee would make him just feel better because of the wetness or something like that.

I have not seen any of the shows with Matt in them yet. I watched him in that dude you are screwed.

Matt Graham appears to be the real deal and seems a hell of a lot more grounded than Dave, Coty, or Joe, suppose it could be editing though. I like him so far.

I watched the show and Joe does come across as overbearing. When Matt told him about the atlatl and Joe acted dumbfounded really was stupid.

There is no way that Joe never heard of an atlatl. No way.

It was in the script.

What I couldn't believe was Teti saying their lives were in danger from the peccary after the other guys speared it with the atlatl

An actual copy of a script from "Dual Survival"....

Co-Star demostrates wilderness survival skill

Teti says something dumb, screams "OUR MISSION IS COMPROMISED" and beats the nearest small animal to death.
