Looks delicious JP :) Great pics of Earl

Jolipapa, I am glad that Earl is having a wonderful trip to Paris. Holiday wishes to you and your family! :)

A hearty breakfast and great weather for sightseeing! Doesn't get much better. Earl's way with the ladies keeps going.

Thank you Cate, you're welcome!
Today I took Earl for a tour in ye olde Paris
Starting in the Louvre and the carrousel

A bit further away, inside the Palais-Royal, just near the Buren's columns, about which there was a lot of torque in the past

is the kingdom of the pipe-smoker (I was one once) : A l'Oriental

Earl cautiously preferred to stay in my pocket...just in case they would still look after him

Then I showed him one of the oldest houses

and introduced him to SM Louis the XIVth, modest as always

But the actual destination was here : Courty, an old shop full of knives!

Captain, Earl on duty since this afternoon! :D

...
and this evening we're heading to a disco party!
I was surprised, but gratified, to see that the first photo of EARL in Paris involved a street named after Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, a German philosopher, mathematician, logician, scientist, lawyer, diplomat, and general polymath who lived in Paris for only 4 years, in his late 20s, I think. While in Paris, he worked with Christian Huygens, and essentially went from knowing no mathematics to mastering all of human mathematical knowledge at that time! I occasionally teach a course on the history and philosophy of mathematics, and students really enjoy the interesting, but shameful, dispute between Leibniz and Isaac Newton, and their respective followers, over who first invented calculus (or discovered it, but that's an entirely different philosophical debate :D).

And then EARL, in my admittedly biased opinion, moves from the sublime to the ridiculous - Leibniz to disco!!:D:D

Go Earl, I still think you should have sent Earl home with the Blonde in the last photo from the night before - for the night - just to teach the boy a lesson!
Duncan, I'm no psychologist, but it seems that you might still harbor some resentment and hard feelings toward EARL as a result of his visit to your fair island!! ;)

No important task to d today, so I granted a lie-in this morning, including petit-déjeuner au lit!

...

Is it just me, or does EARL seem to be looking younger the longer he's on his world tour??

EDIT TO ADD: While I was writing this post, Jolipapa apparently posted two more installments of the "EARL in Paris Journal" that I find absolutely fantastic!!:thumbup: Wonderful photos of Parisian architecture and shops! The photo of the regional knives maps from the knife shop is outstanding!!:cool:

Jolipapa, fantastic pics! Well done!

5K Qs, great eyes, I would have missed that fact, had you not mentioned it, because I was so entrenched in the scenery.

I'm beginning to think I need to see Paris again. I can smell those croissants and that pipe shop. I can't smell Courty et Fils, but I'm salivating anyway.

Looks like Earl's having a great time in Paris! Thanks so much for sharing, Jolipapa!

Thank you very much for an excellent tour of Paris JP, lovely photos and Earl really looks to be enjoying your generous hospitallity:thumbup::thumbup:

All the best
Paul and Jan
