EDC - What did your knife do today???

Used my knife to cut open the birth sack around the foal's nose allowing her to breath. It was a long first birth for the mama and we were concerned with the time the baby was without oxygen. So as soon as the filly's nose was out far enough that she wasn't going back in, I cut open the birth sack and heard and saw the foal draw her first big breath on this earth.

That's a Lamonte Coombs piece isn't it? The man does good work.

My Brown Spyderco Endura 4 FFG rode along today at work. I used it to cut open pallets of glass bottles all day to be loaded into a depalletizer. It was boring but the knife got a good work out.

Used my new Sebenza to open up the package to a new red Vic Cadet. Been doing alot of that lately. Using a minigrip to open a Vic Super Tinker, using the Super Tinker to open up a 2007 annual small Seb, using the 2007 Small Seb to open a Small classic Seb, then using that small classic to open up a Vic Cadet. My new Vic Soldier should arrive tomorrow, guess I need to use my Cadet to open that package. Been a good week lol.

I'm in the same boat. Last knife was a Vic Soldier, ordered a Farmer today. Guess I'll open that package with the Soldier.

Got my Soldier today and made sure to use my Cadet to open it lol, guess I am gonna have to make that my new knife opening tradition. Other than that, cut some tags off some new clothes, and opened a few shrink wrapped boxes, with my new Soldier of course.

Great stuff guys

I used my Benchmade 111SH2O to cut some loose ends on my belt, tighten up a wall outlet (the screw was loose), and flipped it open and closed every chance I could with that silky smooth axis lock :)

Good eye, partner. It sure is a Coombs. The man makes some high quality knives to be certain.

and in the spirit of this thread I just used my Leatherman Wave and WD-40 to extract a tick out of the top of my hounds head.

My Dozier D-12 opened a box of custom micarta that came in the mail today. ~18 months from now, this will be the handle for another Dozier.

Wow~
Mr. Balls,

I was wallowing in the remains of my day, and it's troubles. After looking at your photos, they all seem to have gone away. Life is such a wonder, I take it way too much for granted. Thanks for the reality check.

OK, today, the pass around Sebenza opened a bag that contained a modem for an irrigation controller. It also passed the time with me on the freeway, open shut, open shut. repeat.....

Howdy cj! Thanks for your gracious comments. I'm much obliged. Helping new life come into the world does focus the old perspective a bit. It's a great experience for our kids too.

oh and, Mr. Balls :D:D That cracked me up.

My new VIC "Champion Plus" just made me grin all last night. Plus all the chores I put it through while at work. I lent my "Climber" to one of the ladies in our sewing department last night because we could not find any new (Sharp) scissors. She used the scissors on that SAK for 12 hours and I had to get a bit serious with her about returning my knife to me, She liked using the VIC that much! :D:thumbup:

:)

used my Vic soldier's awl to rethread a plastic lei for my 3 yr old daughter when it fell apart on her at a birthday party. Yes I know, very macho. I'll admit I lost my manhood ages ago. With 2 girls under 5 my house is very pink and more often than not I'm the one carrying the Dora backpack. don't worry, the cqc13 will go back in the pocket and the shotgun will be all oiled up and ready when they start dating.

A picture is worth a thousand words but a shotgun speaks volumes :D

Last thing I used my knife for was to unpack a custom blown glass "waterpipe" I got in a trade for my Ferkkd Commander.

I took my son fishing for the first time this year but we missed the bait shop so I used my Izula to dig up some worms. There's a reason I carry it as a backup to my Sage1 or 2. ;)
