Which corkscrew? can you show us a pic, please?
Nope :)

It's just a cheap corkscrew, I bought it with a bottle of wine, once. Cost me 5$. It works fine and it's small, that's all I need :)

Some Laguioles (the knives, I mean) come with a corkscrew. Nice carbon steel, well finished knives for some of them...

I L'd MAO at your victorinox story ;)

Thanks.

What type is the corkscrew?

Folding?
or
a screw-apart with the spiral/worm fitting in the handle?

I used to carry this as an EDC:

It's a Victorinox (econoline) Waiter - carried between 1982-88 -
the pressed-in printed silver shield logo has worn off,
I chose that model mainly because of the corkscrew and that combination tool -

Do the knives serve different purposes?

Is the second knife used regularly?
if so, what for?
- different from your primary knife?

More than 2?

Thanks,

I am carrying three at the moment. My Leatherman Wave is on my belt. I work with computers every day and I never know when I'm going to have to bear down, and twist or yank something, so the pliers are invaluable. I will lend this tool out.

I also carry the Victorinox MiniChamp, which is small enough to look "cute" and totally inoffensive to any sheeple in the vicinity (and thus may be deployed in otherwise knife-hostile environments) and contains many useful tools. I will lend this knife out.

I also carry a custom-made two-blade folder with scrimshawed handles. This is a treasured gift from my brother-in-law, who does not carry anything on his own person beyond his driver's license and a credit card. God knows how he does it. My head would explode without all my "toys." This knife is not lent out and isn't used by anyone except me. I will also ditch all other knives before I ditch this one.

wow this thread is old, but still alive i see. time for me to contribute a little also....

-Al Mar key-ring with Victorinox Escort and Timex watch on it...and...erm.......keys ofcourse
-sometimes my sony j6 cellphone (i hate those #@$$#@% things!)
-my smokes and lighter (swap between zippo/ronson/disposables...)
-extra backup cigarette papers and lighter (you never know...)
-edc lately: Spyderco Military in my right back-pocket

additionally.....when i go fishing i usually also carry a blade-heavy fixed-blade for clearing plants and bushes at the water and stuff or just for the fun of chopping some branches during lunch when the fish won't bite.

and when i'm walking downtown while shopping i like to carry my Estwing hand-axe for slashing people who get in my way....;-), just kiddin' ofcourse.

when i'm at home i don't have a specific user-knife, but i just tend to grab what lies closest to where i am at that moment, so sometimes i open an envelope with a Buck 110, peel some fruit with an Opinel, slice my oranges with a Buck 119, cut rope with an Al Mar sere attack, remove splinters from my hand with a Spydey Endura, or stab my old bookcase with an Al Mar s2k when i'm in a bad mood :-)........

Is that a stainless steel Damascus, please?

In use, can you tell any difference using a Damascus steel?

Thanks.

Generally, I dislike carrying things in my pockets if I can avoid it. Usually all that's in them is money, keys and a small credit card wallet. I used to carry a LM Micra in there but that got annoying so I now have it in a small nylon pouch on my belt. I also have a Spyderco Meerkat clipped to my belt and, of course, the obligatory mobile phone. On the weekends I usually have my Leatherman tool on my belt as well.

I'm thinking of getting a bigger folder of some sort to keep in the car. Any suggestions?

I'm still waiting for my custom built fixed blade to arrive and I'll probably have that on my belt with the multitool while I'm working around the farm on the weekends.
