EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

@lzeplin Yep that’s exactly what happened. I happened to do something a little more severe today :eek:View attachment 1469427I reckon this is why we don’t pry with knives :D Was under a crawl space digging out some spray foam on a band board trying to find my hole for my conduit. I heard it snap. I really don’t know how it happened. Only thing I can figure is I wedged the tip in the band board and the side of the blade on the floor joist and twisted. I’m gonna have it ground and sharpened on that front edge like a chisel. That blade has been thru way too much to just let it get thrown away. I used it all afternoon. Worked just fine.

Owww! That happens sometimes but still....

I don’t own a Chris Reeves knife; what is the cost of replacing the blade?

Good on you for turning it into a chisel point and keeping it in the rotation. Some blades you build an attachment to.

Squaring up and flagging out some new plot nurseries today. Put this PM2 to work.

Got my replacement Garberg in the mail today, along with a 12 inch Tramontina. This one is perfect compared to the return I sent back.

I noted that this new Tramontina has a different stamp now; “made in Brazil” was added in lieu of “Brazil”. The older ones said “Brasil”. Also, the grind is a bit diffrent. It’s sharper than normal, but it’s a pretty rough edge. All my other ones always came a bit dull but with a relatively even edge bevel. The tips are still purposely dull, and they still come with a coating.

I love these machetes. They are incredibly versatile and high value.

I think they’re $150 for a replacement blade. I’ve actually got a replacement 21 tanto blade from a few years back. Still plan on using this blade tho. Kinda looking forward to the new shape
