I did the same thing with my 585-2. Now it is smooth like butter.I have taken mine apart 4 times now. I can do it blindfolded now and figure if I can de-assist, then re-assist (twice), then I can tear down any axis lock knife.
It does make a very good manual folder, but I'm OCD and the knife felt "off" when It was de-assisted, I had to put the spring and safety lock back on. I just had to.![]()
