EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

When I try to remove this screw to remove the scale, the spacer tube rotates with the screw and the screw will not back out. I cannot hold the tube in place to unscrew this, therefor I cannot remove the scale or take this apart.

You're welcome to send it to me if you'd like. I can take a "stab" at it. I have a few tricks up my sleeve I could try. Your call and the offer will stand. I've owned and still own quite a few CRKs and can just send it onto the mother ship if I can't take it apart for whatever reason.

Pre-work relaxation

I have two, a butane one and an electric, and can't find either, hence using the blue flame zippo to heat it up...

I had to chuckle a little bit because this is how it always works!

"Ah yes, I'll get this nifty tool to help me in those weird situations" followed months or years later by "Hey I know I have a tool for this, dangit where did it go?!"

There are three ways you can do it:

1) hold the stop pin with some needle nose pliers and a buffer so you don't scratch it (like copper or brass tape). Better if you heat before if possible.
2) disassemble the knife, so that this will be the last thing holding the two sides together. Then, you can hold the pin in place with pressure between the two scales, so they are not parallel anymore
3) send to the mother ship (that's what I would do)

Roland.

Roland,
The stop pin floats on the inkosi.it doesn’t hold the scales together. There is no need to remove it to dissemble the knife or for that matter ever.

Gave her a good stropping today, razor sharp again. Can't get her apart to clean and lubricate, as the forward spacer by the pivot is locktighted solid and rotates with the hex wrench. Tried heat, and pliers with rubber, no help. But was able to flex the scales enough to re-install the lanyard with my wife's help.

I use 2 pieces of press board 1/4 in thick one has a hole bigger then the screw head with duct tape on both, remove the other screws on that end then squeeze the knife in a vice with the hole exposed so I can loosen it start with light pressure with a good quality driver twist it quickly.

It’s an Inkosi not a Sebenza. It’s the floating stop pin not a body screw/spacer.
