Whoah! That's a rare sighting to have a hawk (of some kind I believe) come down to the bird feeder! At least for me. I've only seen a hawk come down to my bird area twice right outside my window like that and one time it was to pick up a mouse who had traveled over from somewhere to eat the birdseed that fell to the ground. I've also found one or two dead birds out there though and a dead squirrel that I figure was either from a hawk or one of the bunch of stray cats that hangout around here.I understand. If there is snow on the ground, I keep the bird and squirrel feeders full. Squirrel feeder attracted a new player.

We have a pair that nests yearly a couple blocks over. Our back yard was part of the flight training grounds for the babies one year. The adults fly through regularly. They are fun to watch.Whoah! And yesterday, this was my carry for a lot of the day. My little Buck 170 and the TRM Nuetron.
