If I sell a knife here and get what I asked I don't care what you do with it. I CONTRIBUTE $30 a year to buy sell and trade on this forum and nothing else. I don't have time and don't want to take my time to chat and "contribute". I would NEVER cheat anyone one this forum! And to insinuate that I would is very insulting!

No one is insinuating that you personally would cheat anyone. What is being said, and is a fact, is that people who do not contribute outside of the exchange are far more likely to be the ones who end up in a situation where someone is cheated. I'm sorry, but you share this one stereotypical profile characteristic with most of the cheats that we've seen here. It is a red flag and it does make you deserve further scrutiny (for example: why do you have a neutral?). Hopefully you can take the emotion out of it and see the facts for what they are. Don't take it personally.

Yes, that is curious. No previous mention of any knives being in the car, only that they were stolen from his apartment.

Did you get a tracking number yesterday for the knives that were supposed to be overnight-ed yesterday, Friday? I'm pretty sure that I already know what the answer is.

I think the buyers in this thread felt safe sending unrecoverable funds to the guy who spent $60.

Knives are my interest and I have no need to sell or trade them here and no need for a membership. Despite that I've never stolen from anyone. Based on my track record am I less trustworthy that the guy who spent $60 up at the start here?

People have weird hobbies. But if all you do on here is buy and sell then your hobby is commerce not cutlery.

These sellers are running Ponzi schemes. Their money is spent elsewhere the moment it arrives and the product is for sale in multiple places. I would suspect there are some folks on eBay or Craig's List etc. wondering where their packages are for the very same knives.

As long as folks here keep falling for this the scammers will continue to join up.

That is exactly the case. As you can see the buyer only came here to buy my grinder. I really don't think he understood the feedback rating. He came to my house a bought the grinder so I know he was happy with it. Thx

That is exactly what it looks like and exactly the reason to take peak at someone's profile, post areas, and general forum presence before doing a transaction. That neutral should not be held against him after a deeper look.

No, not since Thursday. Also haven’t tried communicating. If I get anything back great if not it’s definitely a lesson learned. My mail gets delivered later in the day so we will see…

You missed the point. The 30 was my contribution to the forum instead of posts and activity here. I see it as I pay to do what I'm allowed. Being a gold member doesn't make me more trustworthy. My reputation should.

FWIW: I saw this sales thread when it first posted in the Auto's sales forum. I took a year off last year, back when he swindled Les Warren out of his knife, then refused to send his end of their deal. First thing I did upon upgrading my membership, after my lengthy hiatus, was scroll back through the GBU, so I could update & get a better feel for member's I needed to avoid.

With that stated, when I saw this slime-ball/thief, Philly Jeff's, sale (especially seeing that he was using the exact same excuses he used back in 22), I knew I should've alerted someone here....but I decided to wait and see how things played out (wrong decision in retrospect). When everything started going sideways, I started my GBU F&F thread which included a link to Philly Jeff's Divorce sale $hitstorm, locked that thread up and then sent Boru a PM. Philly Jeff's sales thread was moved here to it's appropriate venue, shortly thereafter. Unfortunately the collateral damage was already done....

Which leads me to Philly Jeff, as being a classic example of the risks involved when dealing with anonymous internet stranger "Friend's", and why it's not a very wise/prudent move to ever use the PP F&F option when giving these type of "friend's" your hard earned $$$$. This definitely is 1 of those things I look at, & classify as: A SIMPLE NO BRAINIER!

And if I were to use the F&F option, it would only be with a very small select group of tenured, respectable, trustworthy member's here whom I truly trust; trustworthy member's like: Peter Hartwig, Woodysone, Big Mark, Rickster (just to name a few)........

But as far as all of these new/newer member's arriving on the scene (some with with ZERO feedback), listing their high dollar knives with their only payment option, being PP F&F- all I read when I see these unethical sales, is a big "F*%K YOU!" < That's how offensive and & unethical I find these people. As far as I'm concerned, these types of member's aren't much better than, Philly Jeff.

FWIW: I wouldn't think twice in regards to dealing with you, Rich. You've been a BF's member here for 23 years. I admire and respect long term stellar member's, who support this place with a $$$ Membership.
