Excessive detail is usually a hallmark of a fabricated lie, incidentally. Of course, I'm sure it's just a coincidence here, and this guy's inconsistent story is entirely on the up and up.
There's this post from the 16th:

time to think up additional excuses. I have never heard of people receiving their property back this quickly from the police after a theft in....well, ever. As an example, a buddy of mine had a bicycle stolen from the front of his apartment building's bike rack, he reported it along with the serial number, and like three months later, the police were notified that someone was trying to sell it at a pawn shop. They went in, confiscated the bike, and it was used as evidence to convict the thief. My buddy didn't get his bike back for like six months. The police suddenly finding the knives the day after he was in here posting up a sob story about how everything in his car and his apartment was stolen, after which this guy gets massive and immediate pushback, suddenly (the very next day) they've been "recovered" and he's overnighting them? What? This whole story smells worse than the dumpster that's out back of your local Red Lobster in July.Remember, here's the timeline:
February 3rd - This thread gets posted. Days go by with no response after payment has been made.
February 14th - Dude shows up talking about how he was in a car wreck, and is in the hospital. As stories go, this one is designed to A. get the victims to feel bad for daring to ask where their money is at and B. features the ability to play for time and drag this out because golly gee, I want to help but I'm still in the hospital, sorry.
February 15th - PJ shows up with additional waterworks about how his wrecked car was broken into and how his knives were stolen, and his home was also broken into and everything stolen there as well. Again, additional sympathy, also please stop asking me for knives and/or money, don't you feel bad for daring to demand what's yours?
February 16th -

is informed that the police have recovered the knives that were stolen (somehow) and immediately have returned them to
PhillyJeff
who promises to overnight them.February 28th - We've received no word of the knives arriving, nor money being repaid to any others who might have also bought knives.
So yeah, this entire thing seems inplausible in the extreme. And hey, I could be wrong, and all this actually happened. If so, ah gee, man. That sucks. So, when can you make these folks whole?

Thanks for the support and just a little taken. But I do completely understand where you’re coming from. Seeing as I was new and got caught in this mess right after I joined. I wasn’t going to let this go though and happened to be the one who was in contact with Jeff the most. I also was in communication with the other two guys the entire time. If it would make you all feel better if the mods checks my ip great! I plan on being here for a few years. Maybe as long as some of the grandpa…sorry senior members.Look, I mean no disrespect to @

like i said, no offense intended. there have been a few users that have played a "long con" here with fake accounts, and I felt it was worth noting.
