If I had a dollar for every time something was embellished, misspoken and then grew another meaning in life I'd literally be lighting hundred dollar bills on fire to see if farts are flammable after drinking 1972 Napa Cabernet's. IF Mick did in fact act as outlandishly as he did yet made many acts in the direction of remission of sin, is he really that bad a guy? The man served in the military, he made mistakes and then founded one of the most successful knife companies out there, THOSE are facts. Nobody is saying he's admirable... we're saying we like his knives enough to not care because frankly, its hear say anyway you slice it. I'm not discrediting Spark in any way, but he's presenting information that wasn't entirely collected by him... There were plenty of opportunities for conjecture in those posts.

Okay, perhaps we're talking past each other. I'm not making claims about the factual nature of Mick Burger's wrongdoings. My argument is really purely linguistic. If somebody says, "Sure, Mick did bad things, but he has grown and changed and we shouldn't hold that against him," they are excusing his previous bad behavior. It honestly might be a totally valid excuse, but it's still an excuse. I was mostly just taken aback by the claim that people in this thread hadn't been making excuses for him.

Straight from the Strider knives website. Now, catering hand and foot to military personnel in that capacity to my knowledge isn't done by any other company. IF you call up Randall knives and tell them your deployment date they will offer godspeed your way while throwing you on the back of the bus.

I have no skin in the game brother... I literally couldn't care less what "Facts" were brought to light by someone.

It's 2016 brother, Samuel Colt's company is a shadow of itself... Apple is bigger than the Olin corporation (let that set in) and milk costs $5.00
I don't know what he did or didn't do, I know what someone says he did... MY problem with that is the FACT that the U.S. Government which tends to pooprope idiots who pull that spend tens of thousands with him and his colleagues..? Does that make any sense to you? Can you explain that rationally without smelling something strange there?

You've got to be joking. That someone who brought facts to light is the person you paid to be here. Did you even bother to read what he posted? And that quote from his website you posted is the exact opposite of making up for what he did. Notice the part where it says "Liars and cheaters will be hunted" when it talks about getting gear to a d-date? Strider is the liar and cheat. The irony is so funny it is sad.

I paid him for the service he provides, I didn't pay the forum for his friendship. That is a business relationship, much akin to the NSN numbers on knives we are discussing that nobody will touch with a ten foot pole because clearly, nobody has a rational answer. IF you so vehemently don't like the man, his product continue to not buy it.

You are in the man's house. You should respect his word. Or......you could go verify the facts he presented. It is all there with lots of links to said facts. But why bother right?

The NSN numbers mean nothing. Did the US government check up on all the company owners for each of them? If you can't prove that they do your argument is meaningless.

NSN numbers don't mean a damn thing. Our unit supply room had a freaking book larger than a bible by a good margin FILLED with NSN numbers that never got ordered.

Obviously he knows squat about how actually military supply units work. Just because an item has an NSN doesn't mean they are even being ordered.

The problem here is people making excuses for this dirtbag. Just say you don't care. But don't try to justify what he did so you can feel good about his knives. That is foolish.
