Elusive Schrades

Made my day to see that SCC!! Such a Big Beauty!!

Thanks Charlie, made my day also when I opened the package. In all the years I've been looking for vintage sheepsfoot main Jacks I've only been able to acquire 4 of them.

A working knife, never used! The Gardener's Friend, (Schrade also made one with a spear blade, and called it the Greenskeeper's Friend!!:D)..
This has French ivory handles of celluloid, which seems to endure better that most celluloids!! (touch wood!!)
Notice the flat grind on the pile side of the budding/grafting blade.:)Gardeners Friend 1.jpg Gardeners Friend 2.jpg Gardeners Friend 3.jpg

Agree with our friends above Charlie, isn't it great seeing these older Knives in SUCH Great condition! I notice that that Celluloid holds much better! in fact never have I seen this Celluloid gas out.

Thanks Eric, Glenn and Duncan!!!
Nice one, Cal!!
You figure we've got all the Schrades now, among us??
:D:D

I added another 974 3” congress to my collection, early walden stamp with that very nice classic warm and rich brown peachseed bone. It has not seen too much use. Thank you Eric!

The blades are the same layout on each side and both mains are marked the same, so you can’t really tell which side is the front. I also happen to have a neat old box for this pattern. Superior knives indeed.

Paul you take a mean picture!:) I'm glad you snagged it! That box is an awesome bonus too, it's mighty hard to find a matching pair like that.
