Elusive Schrades

Thanks Charlie great information on the Bob Borin Jack! When you say “Peachseed bone of this type” are you suggesting that there are different distinctive styles of Peachseed jigging and this particular style on this Jack is from circa 1945 or slightly before? How many different styles of Peachseed jigging you reckon there are or can be identified? I know there is the horizontal and slanted types but is there more? I have saved your great photo analysis of pick bone, divot bone, basket weave and Peachseed. Refer to it all the time! If there are different styles of Peachseed jigging (than these two I mention) could you post some photos showing the nuances of the differences? Thanks!!

I'm scheduled to get my cataracts fixed, Lloyd, this month. I'd like to wait a while on your request, but meantime there are other folks out there who could add to the data bank, I am sure!!:D
Anyone??;)

Charlie, those Knives are all as great as each other- Stunning smaller Knives!

Thats very interesting about the Jigged Stag, one would think that you would loose the texture inside the "Divot" and it to be smooth after the Jigging Process? But I haven't seen the Masters Jigging and know nothing about that Art ( would give anything to) so all I can do is stand back and admire such beautiful Knives and the workmanship that is put into these knives to make them so desirable.

Charlie what an amazing showing! Stag Cut Co's are few and far between for sure! I think I actually have the twin to the four blader here somewhere. The stag on yours is most impressive. Definitely unmistakably stag, but so much like the old bone jigging that it makes me think companies must have modeled their jigging patterns off of stag like this. No wonder they called it stagged bone!

Duncan, that's not jigged stag, it's actual stag with a very smooth pattern to it.

This knife came in one of Schrade's old Red boxes from the 1940s! Since I was born in 1944, Joanne bought it for my Birthday
(maybe 6-7 years ago:rolleyes:?)!! Not bad for a non-knife Girl!!
I'm a lucky man!!:DSCC BDay 1.jpg SCC BDay 2.jpg

Wow Charlie! Your knife collection is amazing, makes me drool. BTW that is a scary looking can opener but a classy looking knife.

The Knives being shown here are of such Quality and forever hopeful targets for us - so it’s greatly appreciated viewing these.

Hi Eric
Thank you- I know great Stag when I see it - I have completely misunderstood the knife Charlie was referring to “ the one with the picture all by itself”
Charlie can you show me the knife you were referring to please Sir?

Charlie and Eric!
Yep- That was the Knife I was referring to! I can see why that has created discussion - as it does have the Jigged Pattern, yet has the Bark texture within those recesses - or "Divots"
Charlie there is a never ending stream of outstanding beautiful and most certainly top-of-the-range Knives that we are so lucky you are kind enough to share with us- as well as your wealth of Knowledge - Thank you my friend for all of that!

She’s, they have been there for years, go ahead an take them”
